47 and 12 huh? I fear this will be our last time watching Mr. Durant this season.

When is Perk going to learn not to try and bull his way through players and actually develop a jump hook, spin move, or better move? Go Cs…

I don’t think he cares. Seriously. Think about it. One of the best defensive centers in the league, why does he need more offense? He’s made a living playing defense, so he thinks ” screw the offense”

Perk’s low post game has certainly never reminded anyone of Kevin McHale’s.

Nick…but those type of stupid fouls hurt the team’s defense because inevitably he gets a 2nd on defense and then sits, usually after only 1/3-1/2 of the 1st qtr. My issue with his offense is that for his size he could easily get 10 pts a game and he’s a decent ft-er. one of my issues when he was a Celtic. He should care, is my point.

Jay… More like Hank Finkle. Go Cs…

Finkel averaged 5.1 points per game and 3.9 rebounds per game in his career and won an NBA Championship with the Celtics in 1974.

How about that? I was almost dead-on. Go Cs…

Jay…Harden does have the same kind of game. He’s going to be really good for a long time. No wonder OKC didn’t want to give him up. He should start next season. Go Cs…

I think OKC’s lineup should go like this
    1-Maynor
    2-Westbrook
    3-Durant
    4-Ibaka or Collison
    5- Collison or Perk
Just because it seems like even though westbrook is effective of the dribble, Maynor would be a better distributor. Westbrook would still be able to get the ball on the perimiter and drive.

Nick… a 1970s version of Semih Erden. Seven foot white guy that was a back-up to Cowens. Cowens averaged 16 boards in ’73 at 6’9″. Check out all the Celtics players at Wiki –

Had the C’s traded for Harden, it would have made Ainge a genius. He’s ten times the player of Green. He makes an impact on the game every time he’s in, whereas Green is usually invisible.

Young teams do not have the experience, nor discipline, to close tight games in the 4th qtr. Most great players go through major disappointment until they learn how to win (except only a handful of course – Bird, Magic, Russell, etc.). Harden will be starting next season and they’ll be that much better from that move and having Perk a full year (he didn’t do much in this series) and dealing with the disappointment all summer. They have a great future. Think Portland made a mistake taking Oden? Looks like Dallas vs Heat and I’ll take Dallas to end LBJ’s dream. Go Cs…

Nick.. then we’ll see what happens. I really like the Thunder as they are my 2nd fav team but it’s Dallas’ time. OKC will win a couple if they keep this group together. Go Cs…

James… My second favorite team too, although I wish they were still in Seattle. I believe, like you said, that if the core stays intact, they could win a few. As long as they dont have to beat the Celtics in the Finals, I Want to see Kevin Durant get a ring in the next two years.

NIck…It was tough for me to kinda of root against them in this series but I felt Dallas was better and I would love for Dirk, Jason, and Shawn Marion (loved him with the Suns – my other fav team) to get a ring; knowing OKC will have many more opportunities. Seattle definitely got screwed and I wish they were still there, too. I’m actually looking forward to the next great Celtic run/rebuild, after the big three retire, and think that if we can somehow build with FA signings, trades (not for a while as we don’t have much other than Green or Davis if he signs and then would agree to a trade) and drafting smartly (again, gotta lose a whole lot games to be in the top 3 lottery teams, which I hope doesn’t happen) we might avoid the 3-4 year run as a lottery team. Teams are following OKC’s model (Kings for example) if they suck so they dump players and lose games to rebuild, but I think, and certainly hope, that Boston’s tradition, banners, style, and all will be enough that we can attract some major FAs (DH would be great but I think he wants to go to LA, but with Brown as the coach now, maybe not?) rebuild quickly as opposed to sucking for several years. For me, it’s kind of like going through all the great Celtic groups and their title runs. I can’t get enough and enjoy each new one. Besides, I’m getting tired of watching PP because his skill level is ebbing. He’s still very good but he’s been a Celtic forever it seems. Go Cs…

James… Unlike other Celic superstars, maybe it seems like it’s been forever with him because of the adversity. A few examples: the stabbing, the fake being hurt to attract negative publicity stunt against the Pacers after he got ejected, starting on a team that wasn’t championship ready, not having huge success until after he’d been in the league for 11 years(give or take). Do you get what I’m saying? I’m sure you understand that it always seems like things go slower when they’re not going smoothly. Or maybe it seems like forever because you’ve viewed all of this( which all the lows, knowing your comments, irked you quite a bit I’ll assume) and once Pierce starts having consistent success(after The (other) Trades) he’s already on the decline of his career. And that’s very disappointing, because as phnominal player as Pierce once was, he never had a chance to live up to the excpectaions; nevermind the championships. Reminds me of how some people say that Pierce is in the top 10 Celtics all time, but unlike the other legends, he doesn’t have multiple rings. He played on countless shitty teams. All, I shouldn’t say that, most of the Celtic greats had a sidekick who was with them for damn near the whole duration of their career. Got of track, but that was my possible reason for why it seems like forever.
Although maybe you don’t know why it seems so long, does that sound like it could be anywhere near right?

Nick…you’re absolutely correct. He has suffered through a decade of crappy teams and never, other than when Walker was around, had much talent around him (no FAs, poor drafts, etc.). He truly is a great Celtic and it’s too bad the injuries to KG, Perk, and now Rondo may have cost him 3 more rings (at least one last yr when Perk went down). It reminds me of the Len Bias loss and then Reggie Lewis loss and I just hope the Cs never go through such a long period of time being nothing more than mediocre. I grew up with 7 straight titles vs the Lakers and while that’s never going to happen again, seeing them go far in the playoffs is almost a must for me. Ergo my disappointment that injuries have cost so much these last 3 yrs. Go Cs…
