Game Thread: Bulls-Heat

I think I’m the only Celtics fan in the world rooting for the Heat to win this series. Not because I like the Heat (I don’t). Not because I have anything against Tom Thibodeau (how could I?), Brian Scalabrine (I think about writing him love letters at least twice a week) or Derrick Rose (he seems like a good enough guy). And definitely not because Lebron James seems like a swell, humble guy. I just appreciate great basketball. And the Heat are playing the best basketball of any team right now, including the Mavericks.

I predict a Heat win tonight. After they beat the Celtics, they more or less won the championship. It was like when the Red Sox finally outlasted the Yankees, and the Cardinals were nothing but the finish line Boston needed to cross. Beating the Celtics gave Miami all the confidence it needed.

If I’m wrong, well, just pretend I never wrote this post.

And as always:

Have at it in the comment section, folks.

I’m surprised James hasn’t had anything to say.
I unfortunately disagree with you Jay. I believe that the Mavericks are playing the best basketball of any team remaining. I swear that they were just toying with KD and the thunder.

Jay…the Heat will win the series but then lose to Dallas in 6 games. Chicago needed to win the last game to have a chance but as in last night’s game young teams need to learn how to win in the 4th qtr and until they get that experience then they don’t advance. Bulls will be disappointed but will be tougher to deal with next season. Go Cs…

to be honest Jay i want the Heat to win this series but only because i dont want Rose to win a ring or have more then Rondo in the future, but i have to disagree with you on Heat playing the best ball now, i think Mavs play the best and there gonna eat Miami alive!! Dirk is ungaurdable!!!!!!!!

Cs need a player like Kurt Thomas that does nothing but focus on rebounding. Oh that’s right they have Troy Murphy. Maybe Doc will use him if he sticks with the Cs. Rebounding is the difference in this game. Heat win next game and move on. Go Cs…

Oops…might have spoken too soon. Young teams don’t know how to play late in games, especially playoff games. Total self-destruction. Can they now learn to win? Go Cs….

Plus playoff ball is usually all half-court so that also hurts young teams and teams that like to run. Go Cs…

Terrible 4th qtr for the Bulls. Again, a valuable learning lesson. Go Dallas, kill the f’in Heat. Go Cs…

Somebody put out an Amber alert for paul. C-Town just isn’t the same without him. Go Cs…

Amber alert for paul…searching for a rabid Celtic fan, excellent writer with very good analysis and thoughts put into his posts, fav villain (me), fav words – “the trade”, “Perk”, “Rondo”, “DA”, “just a business”, “continually amazed”, “cohesion”, “delusional”, “the trade”, “it’s funny how fans are”, “loyalty”, “Danny is still blowing smoke”, “the trade”…etc.

I miss mixin’ it up with him. Or, maybe he’s just on vacation like our team? Go Cs…

James…. Not to burst your bubble by ending your streak, but that amber alert was quite humerous. I, like you, think it’s diffrent w/o paul. I’ll scroll through the comment section and i won’t find a post three times as long as all the others( unless of course it’s you). I don’t believe Jay keeps track of consecutive posts, just sayin’
On another note, I, and most everyone here, want to see Dallas beat Miami. I’ll admit, I’m not the biggest fan of Dallas. I was one of the many people who accused them of being to soft and had no chance in hell of beating the Lakers. I was wrong. Of course, i wasn’t rooting for LA, i just didn’t give the Mavericks a chance. Dirk has proven this year that he is the best European basketball player ever. He deserves the ring more than anybody. Let me rephrase that, the Mavericks deserve it more than any other team. They’ve played the best basketball of any team in the playoffs consistenally. Yes, Miami has been remarkabally consistent, but not like Dallas. The closest series was vs. OKC and it never seemed like OKC had a shot.
    Give em’ hell.

Nick…yep it’ll be great when Dirk, Jason, Shawn and all the others get a ring as none of them have one. Love Wade but hate LBJ and hope he only ever wins 0 rings. And I do miss bantering with paul even though we are like the Hatfields vs the McCoys when it comes to Perk and ‘the trade’. The Mavs were soft but the Lakers showed up even softer. Actually the Mavs have really toughened up as the end of the season and playoffs started. Getting Chandler was huge for them. Go Cs…

In case anyone doesn’t understand my analogy –

James…. Thanks for the link, made me understand your analogy. Made no Sense initially.
I found out where Paul is! He’s spending the summer writing a lengthy book dedicated to you about,(yep you guessed it) The Trade.
    Hahahaha.

OMG…maybe paul and Jay can have a dual book signing event and we can get autographed copies of their books!!! paul’s book will likely be called ‘James, the Trade Sucked!!! I’d imagine there’ll be more than one volume to paul’s book, too. Go Cs…let’s get this damn season over so we can draft, trade, and get onto 2012 Finals (Celtics vs Lakers for the rubber match). Go Cs…

I’m with you on how the Heat are playing. I especially love their superfast rotations on defense. Effing amazing. I’d be rooting for them except one thing. Beating a team by deliberately taking out their best player is the dirtiest move you can make in sports, the most bush league you can get. The Heat deserve nothing, except a gigantic punch in the face from KARMA.

Gotta admit, though, I don’t see how the Mavs stop them…

I am opportunistic enough, though, to offer Wade’s WWF Rondo Takedown to Rondo-haters as evidence that, yes, we SHOULD build our future around this guy. Dwayne Wade gave Rondo the most sincere recommendation one (dirty) player can give another player.
