Nice job Dallas tonight. Let’s hope that James calling Dallas in six was right. Although, I have a stange feeling about Dallas in seven. Sense i don’t know, for those of you who do, has there ever been back to back Finals game sevens?
Regarding the actual post this time: I don’t think it’s relevant. Think about it; Paul is a great player, he’s hall of fame hands down. Dirk is hall of fame hands down. I don’t think dirk would have been that much greater than PP if they had the same Celtic teamates, b/c other than the teams that went to the ECF’s against the Net’s, all of them pretty much sucked. They’re not really people that we’re going to remember, unless a special moment stuck out or something. I don’t know how well Dirk’s career got offf, but i’d take PP. Even though i doubt that one would have had more success with the same teamates than the other.
What a story. What a story. Just headspinning. You work so hard to land Nowitski … and lose him through some last minute skullduggery (to match your own skullduggery) … and suddenly you find yourself with Paul Pierce in your lap. Karma was doing backflips on that one.
Speaking of Karma, I hear you Rondeezy. I hope Wade recovers from his injury, if in fact he did in fact suffer an injury, because I don’t want to wish ill on anyone. But I’m not feeling sorry for him. He appeared to deliberately injure our best player in order to beat us. He does need to spend some time in the arms of Karma, hopefully wrapping his head around the idea that the whole point of competition is to win the right way, not the wrong way.
And I think those folks who are so darn eager to trade Rondo might want to think about this a little bit; what does it say to you that Wade apparently thought he needed to injure Rondo to beat the Celtics? And remember, that was after a play in which Wade, who has made a living by beating people off the dribble, went mano-a-mano with Rondo and got effortlessly beaten by our Houdini of the Hardwood 2.0 … so Wade got a nice little demo there that Rondo isn’t your average point guard, and didn’t like it.
Rondo’s shooting difficulties and inconsistency are maddening, but he’s still someone who reminds us why we love basketball on a regular basis.
Wade did not injure Rondo on purpose. The injury was the result of his intentionally pulling him down to cushion his own fall. The injury was an unindented result of that action and I’m sure Wade would never want to injure someone for personal or team gain. That’s not in his DNA. There was nothing else to it. So let’s stop all that talk. It was just a terrible consequence of a stupid move. Fall on your own, don’t pull your opponent with you. Go Cs…

What a great story. Reminds me that, despite all his nonsense, Pitino can be a captivating and charming person. Not sure there is a good answer there – Dirk or Paul – but it’s fascinating to hear how much secrecy goes into the entire draft process, and how one team’s decision can domino the draft. Great stuff!
