Rajon Rondo confirms overseas interest as package deal with Kendrick Perkins

Rajon Rondo confirmed reports that he and Kendrick Perkins could team up overseas, and Paul Pierce admitted that he has considered taking his talents abroad. But the two Celtics aren’t ready to make a move… at least for another month or two. (ESPN, via Zach Lowe)
“I’ve been thinking about it,” Pierce said. “I love the game of basketball. It definitely crossed my mind. I may think more about it in December if it looks like we’re not playing.”
Rondo and Perkins agreed.
“Me and Perk have talked about package deals,” Rondo said. “But I won’t make that decision until probably January.”
I’d really love to write about actual basketball one of these days.

What I thought was interesting was that Rondo admitted that he had gotten no offers from abroad. Think about that. This kid is one of the best players in the NBA and it seems that no one is interested.
Hell, you’d think Rondo would get a clue, but I don’t know. That stubborn streak seems to be taking over. YOU NEED TO LEARN TO SHOOT A LITTLE, RONDO.
When you have every basketball fan in America saying “I can shoot better than that guy,” and you’re ‘that guy’, then maybe rather than thinking about going to europe to play, you ought to be thinking about working every damn day on your ‘j’ until you at least have a respectable one.
We’ve seen player who coke’d themselves out of NBA careers. We’ve seen players who were too disinterested to have NBA careers. We’ve seen players who ate themselves out of NBA careers. We’ve seen players who lazed themselves out of NBA careers, or who weren’t smart enough to make it, but here is a weird case. Rondo is one of the hardest working, most motivated, smartest, most talented, most visionary NBA players we’ve ever seen, and he’s working on stubborning himself out of stardom and out of a career altogether.
I’m sorry, but I’m starting to lose patience. If he and Perkins don’t care enough to realize that they need to work on their offensive skills a lot more than they need a few euros, then I don’t give a damn about either of them anymore.

Paul, i think if Rondo goes overseas it will be the best way to work on his shot… That might be the best thing for him.. He can shoot all night without the worry of the media coverage of the NBA.. who cares if he goes 0-20 from the field overseas? It’s better than taking jump shots in an empty gym
