Glen Davis desirable to New Orleans Hornets as part of Chris Paul package?

The Boston Celtics are reportedly “uber-aggressive” in their pursuit of Chris Paul, but the Hornets are thought to be “lukewarm” on Boston’s offer, said to include some combination of Rajon Rondo, Avery Bradley, Jeff Green and/or two draft picks, plus-or-minus one of Boston’s two rookies. The Hornets, though, are reportedly interested in acquiring Glen Davis, and could be intrigued by a package highlighted by Davis and Rondo.
That opening paragraph is a maze. Just read on. (Boston Herald)
Glen Davis could end up playing a part in all this, no matter which way New Orleans goes. The C’s unrestricted free agent has received interest from the Hornets during the past couple of days as they try to put the right pieces around Paul that might make him want to stay (no doubt it will take more than the forward to sway Paul).
But if New Orleans decides there is no way it will be able to retain Paul, then Davis, a Louisiana native, could be a welcome component in a Celtics package that surely will be headlined by Rajon Rondo. And, according to a source, said package would have to contain more than those two players.
I don’t know what to think anymore. The Hornets want Stephen Curry more than Rajon Rondo. The Lakers are trying to acquire two of the NBA’s top six players without parting ways with Kobe Bryant. A trade package of Eric Gordon and DeAndre Jordan would reportedly be one of New Orleans’ top choices, and a package of Curry and Klay Thompson is another top choice, but a package including Rondo, Jeff Green and two first-round picks elicits a lukewarm response.
NBA rumor season: It’s nuttier than your craziest uncle, and twice as unpredictable.

I love it how smoothly folks have transitioned from poo pooing all the ‘rumors’ to basically salivating over what appears to be the soon arrival of Paul. It’s all group think, and that’s what affects owners and gms too. It seems that everyone in the NBA is now convinced that Rondo is a lousy player. The same happened with Perkins. Again, it’s all group think. Unfortunately, group think can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. If the league convinces itself that Rondo is a bad guy, and then he ends up going somewhere where he is on a short leash, and not allowed to play his game, and before you know it he washes out of the league, despite being one of the most talented players to come along in a while.
A person has to believe in himself or herself in this world. That’s always the moral of the story

paul…Paul is not arriving in Boston. I believe in myself and ergo my love of RR and do not see him anywhere else other than in green for years to come. My love for Perk ended as his bullying tactics and poor play showed his ‘improvement’ curve had flattened out and was actually descending as far as his weak offense and too many fouls/TOs which were hurting the Cs. Go Cs…

I Love RR. He’s has the best court vision, passing ability of any Celtic since Cousy. JoJo and DJ had other skills, and Tiny Archibald was at the end of his brilliant career.
Rondo’s inability to shoot free throws is a critical flaw, because it means he can’t play at the end of tight games and it makes reluctant to do what he does best- take it to the hole.
CP3 is better, but will he bring a ring this year? If not, then C’s are better off going after a quality big man.
The only way trade makes sense is if it’s part of a long range plan to land D Howard in the off season.
