Delonte West signs with Dallas Mavericks

Delonte West signed for the veteran’s minimum… but the Celtics acquired Keyon Dooling instead and West will play for the defending champs, the Dallas Mavericks.
The defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks have filled out their 15-man roster by agreeing to a one-year deal with guard Delonte West, a source said. …
West, a full-time starter for a 66-win Cleveland team a few seasons ago, will play for the veteran’s minimum.
The Celtics reportedly didn’t call West on the first day of free agency. They didn’t re-sign him even though A) he said multiple times he wanted to return, and B) he was available for the veteran’s minimum, a price Boston obviously could have afforded. They acquired Keyon Dooling instead, an acquisition I was excited about at the time, but a player who doesn’t possess nearly the basketball acumen West does.
There’s something fishy going on here. Something we don’t know about. There’s a reason the Celtics didn’t re-sign Delonte West, and I can assure you it has nothing to do with basketball.

Cancer in the locker room? Not a team player, demanding more time, disruptive? Makes no sense as you say so there is certainly something else going on. That said, I trust the Cs to keep the Celtic culture and maybe DW was cut of that ilk? Still don’t like Dooling but we’ll see if he can change my mind. Go Cs…
