Remember the Celtics’ $18 million backup small forward? He’s not yet cleared for full contact
I’m not worried about this yet. Green says he’s “all good.” He’s okay enough to participate in portions of the practice. But at what point do these odd medical issues turn troublesome? If he was really “all good,” he’d be participating fully in practice. And I don’t believe for a second that Green declined to ask what was wrong with him, as he claimed earlier today. If doctors told me I wasn’t healthy enough to play basketball, I know the very first thing I would ask is, “What’s going on, doc?” So what’s the deal? What in the world is going on here?
P.S. — I know Green signed a $9 million contract. But when you add luxury tax, that makes it $18 million.

Is the trade officially done and consummated until he has officially passed his physical? No, I’d think.

The problem I have with this story is with JG’s comment in regards to his health –
“I went to the doctor and I guess they saw something, but it’s nothing serious … I didn’t ask [what it was].”
Now I know 25 yr olds are confident (invincible thinking, too) people, having been one long ago, but the idiocy of his comments about not asking the doctor what was specifically wrong speaks volumes about this guys general f’in awareness. Being more interested in practice instead of one’s healthy and possible medical issue just blows me away. Now I am beginning to understand why he did not acclimate himself into the team’s playing concepts and what was expected of him last season. Considering he was signing a $9MM contract for less than one year of work (more like 5 months) you would think understanding and caring about his health would be paramount to the equation. No health equals no playing and no contract and God forbid we have another Reggie Lewis situation. Medical technology is far superior today and JG needs to be a lot more cognizant of his own body, healthy, and overall awareness otherwise how is he going to learn to rebound better, understand the plays, and perform as a ‘thinking’ player does (like the other 4 HOFs he is usually on the court with), etc. Somebody get the defibrillator out and shock this knuckleheads brain. Go Cs…
