Doc Rivers, Danny Ainge reveal little about Jeff Green’s medical issues

The more the Celtics brass declines to answer questions about Jeff Green’s medical issues directly, the worse the issues seem. (ESPN Boston)

“Usually you pass your physical by now,” admitted Rivers. “Listen, I’ll give you guys more tomorrow for sure. But I’ve been around long enough to know that if you haven’t passed your physical yet, then there’s something going on. I just haven’t found out, but I’ve been around long enough to know there’s something going on.” …

“We will know more about Jeff tomorrow, [he's] completing all tests and all results should be known by tomorrow afternoon,” said Ainge. “We’ll wait until then to give you guys all that information.”

Pressed on if the early results were good or bad, Ainge said, “It’s all based on perspective. But I really don’t want to talk about that. It’s not fair for me to share Jeff’s information right now. So we’ll wait for tomorrow.”

Maybe the Celtics actually don’t know what’s going on. But the organization has a habit of keeping fans in the dark when injuries and health concerns are more serious than expected (see: KG in 2009, Shaq in 2011). And the “it’s all based on perspective” quote from Ainge is especially ominous.

“I just haven’t found out” is the statement you should be focusing on Jay, as it is incredulous to me that the f’in coach does not know what is wrong??? I’m beginning to believe that listening to anything Doc, or DA (just for you paul), says is a worthless exercise and just leads to more bs speculation that compounds the issues that much more. How the coach of a team doesn’t know what is going on is bs and if so then something is very, very wrong with the way things are run with the team. Go Cs…
