Boston Celtics called about DeMarcus Cousins

It appears the Sacramento Kings have decided to hold on to their mercurial young big man, even if DeMarcus Cousins occasionally demands trades, kills small dogs with his bare hands, whines about his team’s offense and drinks straight out of the milk carton.
If the Kings ever do decide to trade Cousins again, expect the Boston Celtics to gauge what it would take to acquire him. After all, they called the Kings this week. (Boston Herald)
The Celtics, like most teams, have called Sacramento to gauge what it would take to trade for DeMarcus Cousins. The young, disgruntled Kings center has been suspended from the team for his disagreements with coach Paul Westphal.
“It’s highly unlikely,” a league source said of the Celtics’ chances of landing Cousins. “I’m not sure that any team is going to get him. The thing is that everyone knows he’s a wreck. They’re not going to get what he’s worth.”
Cousins is a near-seven-footer with all kinds of talent. He can shoot from inside and out. He has hands that can devour rebounds. His skill level, at his size, is incredibly rare.
He’s also caused problems for his coach ever since he came into the NBA. So while the Celtics could certainly use a near-seven-footer with offensive talent (not to mention a body that actually works), acquiring him would be a big risk. Danny Ainge has to put in his due diligence and determine if the price is right, but Cousins is an immature piece of work. He could become a ten-time NBA All-Star or he could remain what he is, an underachiever who causes more headaches than he’s worth.

Getting Cousins would be a great ides for the celtics because there’s no way that Cousins would get away with behaving like that. Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, ray Allen and Rajon Rondo would set him straight.

Never, ever going to happen. I live in SAC and let’s get a few things cleared up. DC says he never asked for a trade (confirmed by his agent).
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7417304/demarcus-cousins-says-request-trade-sacramento-kings
DC is averaging 12 pts and 11 rebs in only 27 mins of play due to foul trouble that is also helped by being a 2nd year player and not getting/earning calls yet. In the 3 losses he played in he had one DQ and the other two games had 5 fouls so a lot of early pine sitting. If and when he starts getting calls, or better, not being called for fouls that aren’t really fouls then his mins will go up, as will his production. And I think Jay that without doing proper research making comments like “Cousins is an immature piece of work” is a disservice to your otherwise stellar work on this blog. I’m not saying DC doesn’t have some issues to work on, but painting him with a totally negative broad brush only helps to perpetuate untruths that then are reinforced by continued ‘labeling’. DC is going to be a very good player with a long career and as much as I would love him on the Cs right now, I just don’t see the Kings giving up on him after only 4 games this season. How ‘mature’ is anyone at 21 yrs of age??? Go Cs…
Hot debate. What do you think?

YOU ARE RIGHT, BUT HE COULD BE GOOD IN THE REBUILDING PROCESS, DOC WOULD HAVE HIS HANDS FULL WITH BOTH KENTUCKY WILDCATS, BUT I THINK A CALL FROM RONDO WOULD BE ALL THE C’S WOULD NEED TO BRING THIS WILDCAT TO BOSTON SO HE CAN BE TAMED.

House and Robinson are washed up and never played defense with the Cs. Their focus was on jacking 3s and nothing else. We’ve got E’twaun Moore to use but Doc has already forgotten about him. Go Cs…

I semi- agree with ur comment. However, Nate did bring some excitement last year when rondo was injured at the beginning of the season. Nate looked as if he was buying into the celtic tradition but it all went downhill from there when he got traded. Him in the second unit again would revitalize the celtics who need a youngster to push the ball. Nate, Bradley/Daniels, pietrus, Bass and wilcox/stiesma/oneal is a solid 2nd unit. After all, “donkey” and his humorous antics is what the garden is missing, brining him back would set the garden off!
