Celtics 100, Wizards 94: The Truth sets them free

Not to rain on today’s Truth Parade, but:

The Celtics are now 3-0 against the Wizards, 1-0 against Detroit, New Jersey and Toronto, and 0-9 against the remainder of the NBA. And Ray Allen injured his ankle and did not return.

Covering the Pats game today, so analysis will come tomorrow after I get a chance to watch.

This was a huge game from Pierce. But what disturbs me about it is that every time Pierce has a big game, everyone screams THE TRUTH IS BACK!! But whenever Rondo has a big game, it’s basically viewed as an aberration. I fear that this game will get us deeper into the rut where the team’s offense is oriented to the Big Three and especially to Pierce. We must have some change to be a strong team. We must have things shift towards Rondo. If that happens, then Pierce becomes an absolutely savage second or third guy in the offense. That is what we need. An offense like that can be very powerful. But it seems more likely that Rondo will continue to be inexplicably invisible. Bradley had 8 shots today. Think about that. That’s about as many shots as Rondo gets most games. The fact that Bradley would get as many shots as Rondo says a lot to me about how this team inexplicably does not see Rondo.

    He’s the ‘kid brother’.

What would the offense look like if Rondo was the 1st option to score….how would the plays unfold …what role do you the big 3 playing? You want the C’s to look like the Bulls?

No, not exactly like the bulls. But take a little of the bulls scheme and mix it in with what we do now. I don’t think that would be difficult, and I think it’s plainly exactly what we need.

And I really wonder, what the heck is wrong with folks that they don’t see this? It’s as plain as anything can be that Rondo is, BY FAR, our most effective and dynamic offensive player. we MUST take advantage of his energy and his ability to break down defenses.

I feel for the poor kid. It’s like he’s been locked into an offense that doesn’t suit him for years, and no one will even consider letting him out of the box. How the hell can you folks not see this? It’s some kind of collective madness.

And just in case it’s not plainly obvious, as it should be, realize two things: 1)I’m talking about a mixed scheme, NOT just suddenly doing it the Chicago way and 2) Rondo would be passing out of his drives a lot more than Rose, as well as pulling out of the drives, and passing backwards from the baseline because a)he’s a far better and more willing passer than Rose and b) he has amazing offensive talents to pass to, like Allen, Pierce, KG, and now Bass and Pietrus.

PP finally showed up in game # 15. Maybe he shows up the rest of the season. Then there’s the 5 guys from the bench that play 57 minutes and got 3 rebounds, which includes MP and his one reb in 35 mins. Nice win but Wash is 2-14 so I don’t think a 6 pt win is all that great, even with RR out and RA getting injured. Go Cs…

And paul is right, the offense needs to go through RR and no one else. Go Cs…

I wouldn’t say no one else quite. But I think it needs to start leaning quite strongly towards Rondo.

Great, good game, now win 3 more in a row and we can start talkin RESURRECTION… Play hard C’s, keep up the fight. Personally I don’t want to see trades because I like every player on this team and I think they can go far if they believe in each other and rotate their offense. DON’T FORGET THE DAMN D…

None of the Big Four should be traded. Danny needs to study the concept of LOYALTY.

Why would take those trades? They project one would result in 5 more lost games and the other 11 lost games.
