Paul Pierce wins Eastern Conference Player of the Week

And he’s just nine points shy of Larry Bird for second on the Celtics’ all-time scoring list. Not bad company.

Win a championship this year, PP, and you vault into third on the all-time Celtic great list, ahead of Cowens.

paul…you need to really rethink your statement, as I have PP maybe in the top 10. Russell, Havlicek, Cousy, Bird, Sam Jones, Cowens, Jo Jo White, Heinsohn, McHale, Parish and then PP (#11). Even if PP wins another title this year (or more) or even in the coming years he is not ahead of these other players. Maybe you are too young to have seen those players, but they all were better than PP. If you are basing your comment on pure scoring then PP’s years of being the only great player on crap teams, whereby he averaged huge numbers, then that’s a mistake. Many of the players I mentioned could have scored like PP, but did not have to as they had better overall teams for many, many years and the ‘wealth’ was spread around. There’s no way PP is 3rd on a greatest Celtic list; ever! Go Cs…
