Kevin Garnett (hip flexor) doubtful Wednesday against Pistons

http://twitter.com/celtics/status/169497391895019520

Not you, Kevin. For the love of all that is holy, not you.

Not even the prospect of more minutes for JaJuan Johnson can put a silver lining on a Garnett injury.

Those road back to backs in Chicago (Thursday), and Dallas (Sunday) just went from “Going to be tough to get a W” to “God I hope we don’t lose by more than 20.”

Not so, Jay… This team can win without KG (better injured now than in the playoffs) and the way is to use CW/JJ/GS/AB and EM…a lot and win the rebounding. Not going to be easy, but having the deep bench we do should mean we can compete even if injuries happen. Go Cs…

Hope you’re right. But ya, if they’re going to have any chance, the bench is going to have to be huge in the first game of both back to backs. Luckily, both of those games are against Detroit, so maybe it’s not crazy to think they can get Ws there without the starters putting up more than 20 minutes or so.

James you’re right. This is JJ’s opportunity! But I hope KG gets some rest. He’s the only C to play in all the games this season.

Our bench is deep this year.

Do you guys think we should sign a free agent SF? With Green out, we’re gonna need some scoring at that position. Al Thornton and James Posey are available.

We should cut SP and sign 2 guys, but not Posey. Need to research re Thorton and to see who’s available before commenting further. Go Cs…

Well idk I like SP’s defense. I really do. And I’ve heard Al Thornton’s name every now and then. He’s only 27 or so so that would give is yet another pair of fresh legs. And then maybe pick up Pryzbilla?

Thornton’s stats aren’t all that impressive and he’s not even playing for anyone so I’d pass. Pryzbilla has been out of the league with injuries so I’m not sold on him either. I’d rather get a wing scorer that can bring instant offense but again I like our team and think JJ/EM/CW/AB (not in that order) call all be valuable in a run and if KD ever gets it together he can be added to that group. Go Cs…

But James, Thornton has better stats than Pavlovic. It would be a good trade off to drop Pav and sign Thornton no? I mean Thornton would still be the 2nd last guy off the bench in front of Daniels, but he would be more serviceable than Pavlovic who is dead weight at this point. Agreed?

Nope, while he may be better than SP, he isn’t playing with any team so that makes him worse than SP in my mind. I just think there are better options and if not then stay as is. I’d rather see a really young guy that’s doing well in the D-League come in than someone that underachieved their whole career to the point where he’s out of the league. Just my belief. Go Cs…

Well if we stay with our current roster, I’d like to see MP increase his scoring a tad. He had a very good start to the year, but he’s kind of plateaued since then.

He’s been relying on the 3 too much and needs to use his driving ability and get to the rim. And you’re right, he needs more mins. In the wins he’s getting almost 24 mins and in losses about 20 mins. I think 25 would be perfect, as PP could use the rest. Go Cs…

I wouldn’t cut SP. He ain’t that bad a player. I would go with this lineup RR, RA, PP, JJ, GS.

I love GS, but I’d go with CW in front of him.

Yeah I think Pietrus is trying to gel with the rest of the team by making passes and not running ISO plays. But he can drive yes, but the 3 has been his bread and butter throughout his career. But if he just gets more confidence in his ability, he’ll be on BB’s level as far as productivity. I love his defense too.

So if I’m correct, our starting 5 today will be RR, RA, PP, JJJ, and CW? That’s actually not that bad.

Yeah, this team can definitely fill the holes. I think they proved that earlier on this season when Rondo was out. Does anyone remember the evolution of AB?

Am I the only one that’s sick of the story already?
