Rasheed Wallace reportedly will sign with Lakers. Seriously.

The thought of Kobe Bryant staring from the corner while teammate Rasheed Wallace launches a 27-footer from the wing is gold, my friends. And it will reportedly soon come true. (CSNNE)
There’s at least one team apparently still with a need for Rasheed Wallace.
CSNNE.com has learned that the former Boston Celtic forward plans to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Wallace hasn’t played in an NBA game since Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals, alerting the C’s shortly before the game that he planned to retire.
At least the Lakers know Rasheed has been diligently working out ever since retiring. As you could no doubt tell by the great shape he was in during his tenure with the Celtics, Sheed has always been a huge workout buff. That’s why he was always so timely with defensive rotations and never settled for outside jump shots. Hah.
In all seriousness, the year Sheed spent in Boston scarred me more deeply than my 2005 appendicitis. Have fun, Los Angeles. This could result in a Kobe-Sheed fight to the death. Or a Mike Brown-Sheed fight to the death, depending on whether Kobe or Brown snaps at Sheed first. And if Sheed ends up squaring off with his new coach, I’ve got my money on Brown because he’s definitely in better shape.

Supposedly he’s in shape and the Lakers aren’t that stupid if you look at the history of their signings. If he is in shape the Cs certainly could have used him, as it would have pushed PP off the 3-line. go Cs…

I agree. Don’t know how valuable he’d be in the playoffs, but he could definitely space the floor. No matter. All the means is MP and RA need to get their shot going.

Guys, Sheed shot 28.3 percent from the arc during his last season. And that was before he did nothing but pick his wedgie for the past 730 days.

Jay, we get your loathing of Sheed, but he played great in his last game with the Cs and it doesn’t take shooting to rebound, which Sheed was very good at. Who would you rather have at center (tough question for you since you rip both all the time)? An ailing JO or Sheed? I would take Sheed and I bet he’s in much better shape than you think. Again, the Lakers are very picky about who they sign and would not consider this unless seeing him scrimmage, in a full try-out, and being actually in shape. Go Cs…

Can’t wait to see how we come out of the gate tomorrow against the Cavs. It’s the first night of a back to back. And I think all of our players are gonna be healthy right??
