Celtics 102, Bucks 96: Clone the third quarter, please

Well, that got a little closer than expected.

During the third quarter and start of the fourth, I was back at my eighth birthday party, hopping on a tube to propel myself down a giant water slide, giggling with glee while my parents waited at the picnic tables below with Carvel cake, a handful of presents and a Keyon Dooling reverse dunk. Okay, they didn’t really have a Dooling reverse dunk waiting for me… but damn it, can you believe he did that?!?!?

Chris Wilcox, I’m falling head over heels for you. Rajon Rondo, triple-double ain’t no thang. Kevin Garnett, you can get double technicals every day if that’s what happens afterward. I’m not sure allowing Drew Gooden and Ersan Ilyasova a combined 48 points and 18 rebounds was a good look, but for a quarter and a half, watching the Celtics was joyous again.

2-0 since the All-Star break. More to come later/in the morning.

Seems like someone, Doc (?) or KG(?) went in at the half and talked about rebounding because they came out in the 3rd QTR and absolutely played the way we all have been wanting. At one point 4 of the starters all had 6 rebs and a couple (KG and RR) had more. We even killed on our own offensive boards getting 18 of them. Are you kidding me? so it was a good win, not great as they coasted in the first half, but they have to stop giving up so many offensive rebs (16) which lead to extra shots by the opponent. Need to get PP & RA to the FT line earlier (2nd half tonight) and in fact PP had ZERO Fts for the game. Love Wilcox’s effort and if KD can contribute like this then he can stay, although I bet EM could handle this role just fine if given the chance. Go Cs…

    Dooling did WHAT?!?!
Dunk…backwards…and Dooling in the same sentence? God I wish I wasn’t playing my PS3 at the time. And yes, Wilcox is the reason why the Beasely trade should involve Oneal. Wilcox can ball.

That third quarter almost made me a believer again. I felt like the surge started with a Rondo-Pierce connection for a score. If those two guys find the synergy, the ubuntu, whatever…

Rondo, Garnett, Wilcox – big games. But what is up with the officials? Rondo attacked the paint over and over tonight. No calls? He wasn’t fouled at all?

The Celtics need to complain to the league about this. They won’t, but they need to stand up for their guy.

the officials have instructions to bone the celtics in general not just rondo.nobody a.k.a. the teenagers that buy all the merchandise want to watch the celtics play in the finals when they could watch the heat.the fact that people think that david stern is beyond that are naive.maybe if there is a news story about rondo being aggresively shopped every game he will get fired up like tonight?

    Billy BadAss:

What are you talking about, there is no Santa? WTF? You just ruined my entire night. The C’s can play some ball when they want to; but with the trade rumors hanging overhead, it’s going to keep them from being totally focused. Beasely for ONeal would be fine, but if they deal Rondo, they are stupid. They won’t get anybody worthy for him. And please keep the Big 3 together for one more run, Mr. Ainge.

O’Neal for Beasley? Hell yeah. Somehow, I think the deal would need a little bit more to happen. There’s no way they are going to trade a broken down heap of a player for a young gun. But if they do I say great. Maybe Minnesota needs a veteran piece in the line up and it’s evident that the C’s need more youth. Jermaine ain’t the same player as he was in Indiana and any player who says that offense ain’t his responsibility should go. As long as Rondo wants to stay in Boston, under no circumstances should he be traded. Not even for Kobe Bryant or Lebron James. There I said it, Rondo ain’t for sale. A true champion of the Celtics.

I agree with billybadass. The C’s are the most despised team in the NBA by far…and people want to see the heat, bulls, thunder, lakers etc in the finals because somehow they’re the more “sexy” team. Which I think is stupid because if you love. Basketball, it doesn’t matter who’s in the Finals because you’re gonna watch and enjoy either way.
