A Josh Smith for Kevin Garnett trade rumor was reported by Mitch Lawrence of the New York Daily News:
With the Big Three’s window now shut, Ainge is trying to land Atlanta’s Josh Smith and other young studs, while offering up Kevin Garnett. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen can also be had, for young players and draft picks. Rajon Rondo might be leaving, too, with the Lakers and Utah seen as possible destinations.
I like Smith as a player and wouldn’t be particularly opposed to this move (I kind of like it, actually — if Rondo can make Chris Wilcox look like Blake Griffin East, imagine what he could do for Smith), but it would be difficult to see him watching ill-advised jumpers after four years of watching Garnett make the right decision just about every time down the floor.
Times, they are a-changing, either in a couple weeks or at the end of this season. /tear

Garnett is a teacher. If Danny has half a brain left, he does not let Garnett go. But this is the guy who perpetrated The Trade, so I wouldn’t be shocked at anything. Horrified, but not shocked

I doubt Denver would move him but he led the NCAA in rebounding last year and is going to be a really good player for years. But that’s my dream; that the Cs get a young stud rebounder who can also defend, shoot and run with RR. Go Cs…
