NBA trade rumors: Ainge says ’50-50′ whether Celtics make a deal by NBA trade deadline

Danny Ainge said it’s ’50-50′ whether the Celtics make a deal by the trade deadline. But if they do make a deal, it might not be a blockbuster. (ESPN via WEEI)
“I think it’s 50-50, but it may be a small deal,” he said in an interview Thursday morning on Boston sports radio station WEEI. “It may be not as exciting as people may expect. But we’re working hard, we’ll work hard the rest of the day until 3’oclock.”
“I think our team has great chemistry and our team, is maximizing its talent level,” Ainge said. “I don’t think that there’s necessarily a change that’s needed, other than we need to bolster up our front line just to eat away minutes. KG and Brandon are eating up a ton of minutes.”
Ainge also address the omnipresent rumors about potentially dealing point guard Rajon Rondo. He reiterated that Rondo wasn’t going anywhere before Thursday’s deadline.
“We haven’t even had discussions about Rondo,” Ainge said. “He hasn’t even been mentioned since the summertime. I’ve fielded calls and there’s been interest because of all the media discussion, but I have not reached out to anybody.”
Three more hours.

The fact that we’ve managed to get past the Trade Deadline without another mega-stupid move by Ainge makes me realize how much I’ve come to hate that asshole. Or what I really mean is, how much I’ve come to hate the monstrously disloyal, gambling addicted prick aspect of Danny Ainge. The good side, the part of Danny who makes really smart moves to build a team, like drafting Avery Bradley and believing in him, like bringing Wilcox here because he could see that the guy really had something to offer, like trading Baby for Bass – that part I love.
But sweating out the Trade Deadline because of the monster prick aspect of Danny not only nauseates me, BUT PISSES ME OFF BIG TIME.

So you’re mad because…he listened to offers during the time before the trade deadline? Tell me one GM that didn’t. And here you are still crying over that overrated, overvalued Perkins guy. He still sucks, no matter how much you don’t want him to. I don’t understand your pissy attitude…I mean he threw together a bench this year that is still very capable, and sure he made some mistakes last year (signing Murphy, Arroyo, etc) but the Perk trade was warranted in my honest opinion.

What the hell can I say to you, Greg? You are one of the drones, the mind slaves, who begs the Daddy on television to tell you what to think. Of course there is no way to justify trading away your starting center, the heart of your team in many ways, on the verge of the playoffs, to supposedly fix a hole on your bench. But pal, you believe what you want, right?
Just turn to any media source and have them tell you what to think. Don’t worry about using your own mind to think things through. There there. What a good little drone you really are.
So Greg, since Perkins is such a bum, OKC will give him back to us, right? RIGHT? If you were correct they would give him back, WOULD THEY NOT? No. Of course they would not consider giving him back.
And yes, Greg, if you want to believe Daddy Danny when he puts you on his big lap and says “gee whiz, little Greg, why I NEVER was looking to trade off the guys who have given this team so much for gum wrappers and swiss cheese – really really – I was FORCED by those mean gms for other teams to listen to them (when I called them and breathed heavily into the phone and mumbled stuff about Rondo being available)”- Greg, if you want to believe that crap, then go right ahead.
Pink Floyd made a whole movie about folks like you. Orwell wrote a book. Keanu Reeves tried to save you cinematically. But it’s all no use. Some just want to be plugged into the network of lies.

The problem wasn’t a hole on the bench as much as we had no back up for PP and had a starting center (Shaq) that had us 23-3 or something like that. And JO was the back-up. It’s easy to look back in hindsight paul, but the world doesn’t work that way. Perk is under-performing in OKC and we’ve had injuries. If shaq and JO had been healthy and we had won it all last year then you would not be spouting off about this all the time. Just because you can doesn’t change why the trade was made and never will. Go Cs…

I swear to God, this insane credulosity when the Big Man speaks would shock me if I didn’t know from life experience what cowardly little children most supposed adult are, afraid to even think a single thought that is actually their own.
Think about it sometime. Look at how the people around you will check with the people around them before formulating even the most basic thoughts. One member of a group might tentatively venture that it’s a nice day. Another might snap, ‘it’s too hot’. The first will surely say ‘oh, you are so right, it really is rather hot’. No one will declare liking a movie the others don’t like, unless they seek acceptance in some subgroup and have decided to invest their group think chips there. And do it goes with the human species.
It gets to a point where up is down, in is out, black is white, and the most mind-numbling awful trade in NBA history, possibly, is ‘bold’ and ‘ambitious’ and ‘reasonable all told’, just because all the owned talking heads parrot the Aingian talking points to defend it.
Fucking pathetic.

Ah, so now you’ve taken the “old-bum-who-thinks-he-knows-the-inner-workings-of-the-universe” eh?
Okay Neo, have your fun. We’re all mindless drones, and Paul is the only unplugged one among us. Please, hail to his glory, because he is the basketball God who knows how to win championships. He is the most distinguished NBA GM of all time. He knows more than ALL the sports media stations combined, and why? Because he’s Paul, he’s old, and he has a computer keyboard to express his love for Kendrick Perkins. May we never fear his wrath,
