Ryan Hollins to sign with Boston Celtics if he clears waivers

http://twitter.com/SteveBHoop/status/182608899290054656

And on the buyout free agent market, the Celtics sign a seven-footer who can provide six fouls and maybe a couple rebounds and/or blocks. Nothing else was out there, so all in all, not a bad coup for a Celtics squad DESPERATE for size.

The Celtics will need to part ways with at least one player to make the transaction, which shouldn’t be difficult considering they have two players with season-ending ailments.

    C`s should sign B.Diaw and R.Hollins for 1 year. C`s should sign R.Wallace & E.House also. Ainge should waived M.Daniels & S.Pavlovic then buyout Dooling,Wilcox, and O`Neal for good.

DID I NOT JUST CALL THIS?! Almost as bad as the Jets trading for Tebow. Just idiotic. What, so you missed out on Hickson, too impatient for Reggie Evans, and missed out by stupidity on Turiaf, so you sign a pathological scrub?! What a waste.

IF Evans gets bought out, they have other rosters spots they can free. There’s no guarantee there, he’s not available yet.

You get Hollins now to give yourself some security. And Hickson didn’t clear waivers, the Blazers claimed him. So the Celtics (since they’re a tax team) never could have signed him, get your facts straight before you open your mouth.

According to hoopshype.com, Mehmet Okur is available. He’s older, but he averages about 7.6 points and more importantly, 4.8 rebounds.

Then Hollins and Fesenko (or Wallace) it is. Not bad I suppose. All we need is rebounds anyway. And someone to clog the paint. Fesenko can do that.

Neither of them have been very good rebounders.

Which always amazes me, how can a guy that size (both over 7ft) not rebound? It’s insane.

This guy does have some decent highlights on YouTube though. If we can get that effort out of him all the time, he might not be too shabby. He’s athletic, active on the boards, runs the floor, gets the occasional charge, and can open up opportunities for RR and PP to drive to the lane. Look up his YouTube vids.

Okur would be a good grab for sure.
