Mickael Pietrus update: SF could play tomorrow against Wizards
More great news on the Mickael Pietrus front. Pending further testing upon his return to Boston, Pietrus could return to the court as early as tomorrow against the Washington Wizards. (CSNNE.com)
Now on his way back to Boston, Pietrus feels fortunate knowing he will eventually resume his playing career sooner rather than later.
“We have been playing good basketball and to end the trip like that was sad,” Pietrus told CSNNE.com.
He added, it “could have been worse.”
Upon returning to Boston, he will be reevaluated by the Celtics medical staff.
Depending on how those tests go, Pietrus could be back on the floor as early as Sunday’s game against Washington.
Pietrus is eager to get back on the floor, naturally.
But he has no plans to come back too soon.
It doesn’t really matter if he returns tomorrow or the next day or the day after that or whenever. Pietrus is expected to be healthy, and yesterday that certainly didn’t seem ensured.

Wow he’s already ready to get ban into the fray. That’s amazing. I think we would have won that game yesterday if he hadn’t got FOULED by Lou Williams. Suddenly that cloud above the C’s got a lot less dark. But what’s the status on Bradley and Ray??

Great news that he’s OK, but if it’s a concussion he’ll be out a while. Hey Doc, play EM will you! Go Cs…

I agree. Dooling hasn’t necessarily carried his weight this year. He’s shown glimpses, but EM was the reason we came back in that game at Orlando a few weeks back. He deserves more minutes than dooling.

This is a major reason I consider Doc only a good coach and not great. We’re playing a young team and could use EM and every time I’ve seen him he’s productive and plays decent defense. Doc’s rotations suck at times and his not using the ‘youth’ of the team only does a disservice to the team, those player’s development, and any chance they can earn minutes and contribute during the playoffs. Go Cs…did you see the Laker refs showed up at the SU/OSU game today folks?

Please pray for Trayvon Martin’s family. The egregious violence that was bestowed upon their son can only be describe as despicable…being a young african-american, that story really hits home with me. That could have been me.

Absolutely! Hopefully justice will be served as TM did nothing wrong and someone that shouldn’t have been armed unfortunately was. Prayers to his family and all families that have suffered losses that happened needlessly. Glad the citizenry is showing it’s support in communities all across this wonderful country. Too bad we too often have a black eye or turn our eyes away from the problems of injustice facing us, especially our youth. Go Cs…

Exactly. We can’t afford to just sweep these things under the rug any longer. Now I’m not saying that Michael Vick is a saint, he certainly deserved justice for what he did, but anytime a black athlete goes to jail for 2+ years just for knowing people who were in a dogfighting ring, but Zimmerman gets to walk free on a bs “self defense” claim, something is wrong. And then you have people like Glen Beck who essentially condone the shooting because Trayvon was a “troublemaker in school” the only thing he did wrong in school was be tardy! We’ve done worse than that in middle school. It’s an absolute mess. But you’re right, good thing it’s become a national issue. We just have to make sure it doesn’t blow over in two weeks like these things tend to do.

I agree with you about the brazen racism of the killing of Martin, but I’m more concerned about the brazen racism of a society where blacks are not only getting the economic shaft worse than ever, but are also being force in massive numbers into a second-class-citizen standing as felons, by a ‘justice’ system that churns out racially biased INJUSTICE on a massive scale. We may have more prisoners in American prisons than the rest of the world has, and most of them are in there for what are, fundamentally, bogus criminalizations of non-crimes, and, on a deeper level, for the crime of being poor and black.
Meanwhile, America has supported genocide against blacks in Libya.
So racism in America is a gigantic, horrible smelling, satanic can of worms. It is the dark heart of America, and the fact that a tiny percentage of blacks in America are making ‘good’, and are entering elite status, doesn’t change the fact that MOST blacks are as bad off as they were decades ago.

As much as I despise the Heat, I”m glad the players of that team (and NBA) are reallying support for Trayvon Martin’s family. As a white male, I’m disgusted to see that such blatant violence against an innocent black teen is still tolerated in this country, even if it is in a redneck county in Florida.

Thank God Pietrus is healthy and coming back. And yes, James, we all want to see the young players on the court, rather than see Dooling shoot bricks and committ turnovers. The 76ers are young and athletic and Doc should’ve matched them with his own talent on the bench.
