Celtics 102, Bobcats 95: Paul Pierce still has it

The Charlotte bench outscored the Boston bench by 50 points (59-9), but the Celtics still held on for a victory behind Paul Pierce’s season-high 36 big ones. Boston is now tied with Philadelphia for first in the Atlantic Division. I had work and still haven’t caught up to the game, but Kevin Garnett’s dunk was fun.

Don’t like this game one bit. Love the win of course. But this was a loss as far as I’m concerned. Our starters should NOT have to play 35+ minutes to beat the worst team in the NBA. Why in God’s name isn’t Hollins, Steim, etc playing significant minutes Doc?! I love you man, but you gotta ease up on the gas pedal on our starters. And idk what Rondo is doing but we need at least 10 ppg from him. The second quarter was atrocious, and now teams are looking at us saying that we are weak as the game goes on. Hollins needs to be thrown in the fire and let’s see if he sinks or swims. This game was horrible in the larger picture. Thank God we have the Truth on our side.

I agree with Greg and am so thankful I did not listen to the game on NBA League Pass Audio. I would have broken my pc again, but on purpose. Our bench gets out-scored by 50 pts and manages a measly 9 pts and 8 rebs (we had 6/5 after Q1 – so 3 pts and 3 rebs in 3 QTRS). We go out and get Hollins who gets 4 mins but has 2 rebs and he sits the rest of the game. I HATE Doc’s coaching and rotations. KD/MD/SP play 26 mins and get 1 f’in reb. Again, I’m 58 and could get 3 rebs in half that time. Why is KD playing and not EM??? KD has proven worthless this season so I’d be playing EM as he always delivers and the experience could be extremely helpful come the playoffs. Beating a team that sucks this bad by 7 pts is nothing to gloat about. Yes, it’s a win and PP was huge and has been playing awesome ball (10 rebs and we’re now 10-2 in games he has 7+ rebs), but Bass has to rebound better and I wish PP would get a few offensive rebs (hell, I wish the whole team would get more offensive rebs). Let’s hope RR gets out of his funk ASAP, too. Ugly is the only word to describe this game. Go Cs…

Actually, this game was more about the Celtics going to the front of the rim for a change and getting to the foul line. Charlotte is pathetic I agree but the Celtics won the game. That’s important heading into a week where they can actually PRACTICE at home! My guess is we’ll see more sets for guys like AB, Steamer & even Hollins. You cannot teach size and Doc has to at least give Hollins a chance. We probably will need his 6 fouls in the next two games and if he can help clear the boards, even better. Stop bashing on Rondo. He is similar to Perkins in that numbers don’t define what he means to the team or the role he plays. There are VERY few young NBA PG’s that are willing to defer to the scorers just to keep everyone involved. I still haven’t found a better rebounding or defensive PG in the NBA than Rondo. He is the one player the Celtics could not afford to have go down. Remember that.

I don’t think we have as a group been too harsh on RR other than not showing up for games or his ‘disinterest’ in games. Never saw DJ, JoJo White, or Sam Jones or any other Celtic guard of RR’s ability not show up for any game ever unless injured or sick. I’m just tired of his coasting because as the leader of the offense that doesn’t help in games like this where we beat a very crappy team by only 7 pts and it was a 4 pt game with 2 mins left. We could have lost it. RR’s the best PG in the league but he needs to show up like KG does every night. Go Cs…

No we can’t play Hollins yet. He hasn’t had the Doc’s silver spoon treatment, you know, like, don’t break the fine china. Good 7 point win. Charlotte is now 7-40. Congratulations.
