Bulls 93, Celtics 86: Second straight tough loss

First half, good. Second half, not good. Rebounding, never good.

Truthfully, I was more upset with last night’s loss than this one. We obviously played lax in the 3rd qtr and less so in the 4th, but I liked a lot of what I saw and when MP is back that will help our height issues (although our bench centers only managed 1 reb in 24 mins and that’s pathetic). That said, I saw Doc make a change tonight that will greatly help this team going forward and I did not think Doc was capable of making said change. Hopefully, RA will still come off the bench and provide firepower to that second unit. The other thing I heard was Doc telling the team EMPHATICALLY in a late timeout to “rebound and run”. As you know, I have been extremely critical of Doc and his coaching and our lack of rebounding effort, but if he keeps things as they were tonight I believe I’ll be giving him a lot of credit going forward. The fouls against the Cs were a bit too ‘Laker-ref-ish’, but all in all I liked a lot of what I saw and know that the effort will be there when really needed. This team is shaping up nicely and with MP back, and us healthy through out the playoffs, we stand a very good chance to reach the Finals – where anything can happen. Go Cs…

Doc was mad about them walking the ball up (and I don’t just blame Rondo for that – I think he does it because the Big Three demand it) – it’s always an offense killer when we walk the ball up and then pass the ball around the perimeter for a 20 foot J

And we come crashing back to earth. Two straight losses. Was the Miami game a fluke? I don’t think so. Boston played a competitive game to both the Spurs and Bulls. It’s not like we got run out the building. Wins are great, but playing to win in my mind is better. The Celtics did that in the last 2 games just a shame they couldn’t close out. As long as they can give the contenders a run, we have a chance going forward in the playoffs.
