Mickael Pietrus suffers no setbacks during basketball workout

More good news continues to stream in regarding Mickael Pietrus’ recovery.

The swingman participated in a basketball workout today, according to the Boston Herald, and will take the next concussion test as mandated by the NBA tomorrow. The Herald reports that Pietrus, who earlier said he hopes to return within two weeks, is on track at least for a playoff return and could come back earlier than that. This is obviously good news for Pietrus, who clearly deserves a spot on the Celtics dance team as evidenced in the .gif above.

Sasha Pavlovic and the Celtics have thrived in Pietrus’ absence, so it will be imperative upon Pietrus’ return that he finds a way to contribute without ruining any of Boston’s growing cohesion. Team chemistry can be quite fragile, and Pietrus, though he smiles more often than a baby being tickled by an obnoxious aunt and seems beloved by all his teammates, will presumably take minutes from someone who has earned playing time during the past few weeks.

That being said, the Celtics could use another shooter off the bench and Pietrus isn’t the type of player/person who should seriously threaten the status quo.

MP is so much better than SP and has proven it all season, ergo why everyone wants him back sooner than later. SP has finally shown something but I’d rather have MP on the court anytime over SP. Go Cs…
