Raptors 84, Celtics 79: Ugh

Three thoughts on that atrocity:

1. I just wasted two and a half hours of my life.

2. I just wasted two and a half hours of my life on a Celtics loss, which sucks even worse.

3. I didn’t expect an effort like that out of this crew.

That’s it. We’ll see you again tomorrow. The Nets await. The back-to-back-to-back continues.

Well i think they decided to act like it was an actual game in the 4th quarter. I’m just glad that we have a game tomorrow to get over it. Can’t wait for a showdown with the new-look Knicks on Tuesday.

That’s what happens when you underestimate a crappy nba team… at leas they realized they were losing with 4:33 left on the 4th quarter.

Cs peed all over themselves and their recent accomplishments tonight. Absolutely another pathetic loss to a sub .500 team (actually .350 team) where the Cs waltz in thinking they got it in the bag. And why not EM, but KD & MD??? Killed on the boards even though PP had 8 rebs (now 14-5 in games he’s 7 or more) but 12 more offensive rebs given up. Worst trait of the core 4 is how they consistently and unapologetically play down to inferior competition. Go Cs…f’in show up tomorrow please and have some pride.

No, it’s all the lame losses this year…all sub .500 teams..NO, Phoenix (when they sucked), Cleve, Toronto, Detroit (home), Detroit (4 days later) and Sacramento. See a pattern Greg??? Think any of those 7 losses would help with homeport advantage and getting the best seeding? The old Celtic teams never took these type of games as ‘given’. Yes, one or two, even three losses are OK to inferior teams but not 7. I listened to the game and the Boston radio guys were not complimentary to this effort by any means. There’s no excuse for playing this bad. ever. Go Cs…

Sorry…should read 8 ‘lame’ losses (1/3 of our losses this season) as I forgot tonight’s. Go Cs…hope you’re embarrassed and take it out on the Nets.

You are right on this, Greg. These pathetic losses to weaker teams have consistently hurt the Big Three Celtics. They can pretend all they want that Home Court advantage doesn’t matter in the playoffs, but it does.

When did I become Greg, paul?…At least get your Perk/DA antagonist poster’s name correct. Geez…can I get some respect here in C-Town??? Go Cs…

Pathetic… Celtics should have romped all over that team. I’m sure someone has lost a lost of money out there. What next 2 more losses? Can we start playing like the leaders of the Atlantic, please?

James, agreed, this is beyond frustrating!!!! We should be vying for a 2 seed had we not thrown away those “give me” games. Tonight was disgusting, and when is Doc going to learn: the young guys would have played theirhearts out tonight if given the chance. The energy and effort from EM and JJ would have given far better results than a lethargic effort from the so called first string.

Agree 100%. That’s what young legs are for but Doc is way too stubborn. Things have to be forced on him, like injuries that have allowed AB and GS to step up. Go Cs…

James, PS, on your other post re: level of play. I agree somewhat with your point, but we don’t know the extent of Ray’s injury.

Let’s hope it doesn’t snow ball… Toronto and Charlotte should have been automatic. If they lose one of the next two and the Knicks beat Miami Sunday, that division is up for grabs.

I know one gets tired of hearing it, but when Rondo isn’t playing his whole game – AT LEAST scoring enough to open up the defense, and grabbing some rebounds, and working on the defensive end – then it hurts us. He is our leader and best player, though no one wants to acknowledge it.

I agree but, while RR is our best player it’s still KG that is leading this team by his stellar play. To me he is the Cs’ MVP this year even though RR has had a brilliant season. His flaw is not always showing up in games like this. He had 7 assists in the 1st qtr and then was at 8 with 7 mins to go in the 4th qtr. And he took zero shots in that first half. He has to come out strong every night as he is the team’s offensive leader. Go Cs…
