Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett out tonight against Atlanta Hawks

http://twitter.com/GwashNBAGlobe/status/193348874000285698

Since tonight’s game in Atlanta could very well decide who receives home court advantage in the first round, it’s safe to say Doc Rivers has officially entered “I’m really banking on the fact that we can beat Atlanta or Orlando on the road” mode. Either that or he’s banking on Avery Bradley scoring 45 points, Sean Williams and Greg Stiemsma combining for 17 blocked shots, and E’Twaun Moore holding it down for the bench (or maybe, considering how many players are out, the starting lineup) with a cool 20.

If the Celtics are going to rest players, please allow me to jump on the “Doc, Brandon Bass is pretty important too, so maybe he should also receive a playing time cut” bandwagon. If the Celtics are going to go to war with the C squad, might as well let Bass take an easy night and give JaJuan Johnson some run. AmIRite?

Sean Williams will wear No. 56 for the Celtics — whoever decided to officially announce the Williams signing on 4/20 is a comic genius.

    I would definitely sit and rest BB as he has been the closest to getting injured lately. He is way to valuable to lose now in games that do not matter. That said I would stat AB, EM, GS, JJ, and SP and let them play 35 minutes each. Go Cs…8 days to the real fun!

    Its been one hell of a season do far. But this game will be very interesting because Ainge and Doc will see what we have going into next year. Do we trade RA for a viable big man? Do we cut Dooling, Pavlovic, Hollins to make room for Jeff Green and someone else? Just how good is JJ an EM? All questions that could be answered in the next 8 days. Enjoy 4:20 everyone!!! Hopefully no one here has to take a drug test soon.

      Work for myself so mgmt. doesn’t test! RA is a free agent so we can’t trade him but I sure hope he resigns with the Cs. Toss Williams out there too and let’s see if he has matured, can play or at least show he wants the opportunity to be on next year’s team. Go Cs…

        So wait, no drug tests + working for yourself + living in California…today must be Christmas for you James hahaha
        I would give Hollins bug minutes tonight over everyone else. PP and KG vouched for this guy, and so far he hasn’t given us anything. Would love to see him prove himself.

          Everyday is XMAS, Greg!!! I lived in D.C. for several years as a kid and got to loathe the sweltering so was glad when we moved back to CA. Just have to get back to the coast where I belong. Just following God’s plan and hopefully it includes getting back to the beaches and more Cs’ titles…and maybe getting to the Garden to witness one or more of those. Go Cs…

            Thats awesome. As a business major, my goal is to do the same thing. And my dream place to live is CA as well. Not that i buy into this particular stigma of the Golden State, but how is the “agriculture” out there? If you partake. And Hopefully I get a chance to see the C’s in person in my lifetime.

            It’s pretty damn good and more importantly…plentiful. Best I ever had was in Hawaii, though. Maybe we can have a C-Town gathering at the Garden if Jay has any clout??? Go Cs…

    Happy 420 day guys! Greg, I live in LA and despite the A-hole Laker fans, this place does have its perks. James, if I get fired from my job, will you hire me? Just kidding. Go C’s

    Damn straight you right. Put JJ and EM in the game for awhile and I bet they come up with 20 points each. On another note, RH was a desperation move for Boston. We can’t expect the guy to be an all star overnight. He’s only been with the team some months and in that time has only got a handful of minutes. Give him time and he will prove his worth. No KG, no PP? I hope Doc isn’t getting used to this. Good to protect your players but at the same time don’t want them to get rusty, particularly around playoff time. I am really hoping to see EM and JJ for extended periods tonight. I always had the idea that EM was like a young RA and JJ was a young KG judging by their height, position and what they can do on-court. Looking forward to seeing what Sean Williams can do. JO turned out to be bit of a disaster. It’s a pity because throughout the early 2000′s he was one the East’s best big men. Sorry things didn’t turn out and wish JO all the best.

    @James
    I’m officially envious. I’ve had the privilege of experiencing some of CA’s product and man…what a drop off of quality between that and NC’s product. It’s not even funny. Maybe that’s the reason you’re able to ball so hard at your age? Hahaha
