Kevin Garnett hip flexor puts him on long Celtics injured list

I’m covering the game from the TD Garden for CLNS Radio, so you can check my entire injury update there.
But here’s an excerpt about Kevin Garnett, who will miss tonight’s game with a hip flexor.
The Celtics are looking to rest their players and tune up for the playoffs, but that isn’t the only motivating factor behind sitting Garnett.
Rivers noted that he planned to play Garnett until the 17-year veteran approached him at some point before Tuesday’s game.
“He was going to play, and then he had to be honest with me for a change. The hip flexor thing is still bothering him,” Rivers said, adding that Garnett will play Thursday if he can. “I wanted to play him tonight. My choice was to play him tonight and give him a day off Thursday. But Kevin never comes in [to speak to Rivers]. When he came and said, ‘I need two more days,’ that speaks volumes.”
The injury doesn’t seem serious and Rivers seems to expect Garnett will play during the regular season finale against the Milwaukee Bucks. But add one more thing to worry about as the season ends.

Ok, who isn’t injured on the Celtics? I’m starting to think the first round won’t be so easy…
