Hawks 87, Celtics 86: Atlanta extends the series to Game 6

Three different times during tonight’s Game 4, I exhibited the Boston Celtics’ lifeless bodies and properly identified them as deceased. Three different times they jumped straight out of the coffin doing the Bernie and making quick comebacks. But the Celtics could not get a shot off on the final possession after Rajon Rondo improbably stole an inbounds pass to give them a last chance, and the Hawks extended this series to Game 6.

With Paul Pierce running like he took 17 consecutive People’s Elbows to the knee, the Celtics really could have used a shorter series. Now the Hawks have life, Al Horford’s a monster again and Pierce may or may not have a linger knee issue to deal with moving forward. Not ideal, but the Celtics will have a chance to end this at home Thursday night.

We would have had more time to execute some kind of play if they had fouled josh smith without letting 8 whole seconds pass WITH A FOUL TO GIVE. Hopefully we get some home cooking and Rondo establishes himself a LOT earlier. He had a good game but took entirely too long to control the tempo. I’m fairly confident he’ll come out guns blazing in game 6.

Same here. Looks like an injury he wouldn’t be playing on in the regular season.

Terrible time management (Doc no TOs left), poor execution and awareness (8 secs wasted to give a foul) and Hero-ball (both PP on his last shot and RR not passing the ball up the court on the last play) all tied together with the lame rebounding and voila…a close out just let the Hawks back into the series. Go Cs…get serious from the start of games!

I’m worried. Harford is giving us fits and we don’t have the size to match him. They have outside shooters who can heat up quickly. And we struggle on and off with shooting from one night to the next. We have to win Game 6 period, but now the Hawks have confidence back. If Pierce’s knee is going to limit his production, we could be in trouble. It’s going to take a lot to knock this team out, proven by tonight. Agree with everyone’s comments here, but Ray missing two FTs (he’s struggling in the series) is an anomoly that cost us the game, along with the rebounding, some bad passes, selfish shots, not fouling with time on the clock, etc, etc….Okay, can I say it again? I’m worried.

Celts in six guys, no need to be worried about the Hawks. Worrying about Pierce’s health is defiantly warranted , hope he feels and looks better next game. Also, whats with Steamers 4mins to Hollins 19? can we get avery going again too please? 18 mins?

Idk if it’s Doc’s idea, but Rondo needs to stop dribbling up the floor then passing and watching. HE needs to run the offense, HE needs to dictate shots. I know he had 12 assists, but if the 4th quarter Rondo (and Celtics) show up from the opening tip in G6, we’ll be fine.

C’mon Celtics, let’s get it done. Too much wear on the veterans, Doc should have played BB or even JJ at SF to save the mileage. Gota give the vets a rest from time to time. Play a line up of RR, EM, JJ, RH and GS. Throw a spanner in the works Doctor Rivers… Let’s go Celtics, don’t get trapped in a dogfight. 18.
