Heat 98, Celtics 79: Game 7 will be in Miami

Not many teams are equipped to stop a LeBron James onslaught like that. I need to go to post-game interviews for now, but here’s my Game 6 recap for the Springfield Republican.

Plenty more to come later, as always.

I watched the Cs for 50+ years since I was 6 yrs old and I have never been more disappointed by a Celtics team not showing up, playing ‘hero’ ball, settling for jumpers, not attacking, not rebounding, RR throwing behind-the-back passes like it’s a playground game, TOs, and just no f***king passion whatsoever. PP SUCKED and never drove inside until the second half. We should stop shooting ‘hero’ 3s especially MP who never drove tonight, either. I expect we’ll rebound and show up in GM 7 because they cannot be happy about peeing all over themselves and their fans tonight. Go Cs…

You are going to blame Rondo for this? You are freaking kidding, James? Seriously?

RONDO WAS THE ONLY CELTICS WHO SHOWED UP TONIGHT.

And he’s the one you are going to blame? You have to be freaking kidding.

Hey f**khead read my post again without the f’in blinders you have on. I blamed the whole team first and yes I mentioned RR throwing a LAME pass that he shouldn’t have thrown. But I said PP SUCKED, not RR. You need to read closely before spouting off crap comments. Typical paul, shoot from the mouth without reading and understanding. Go Cs…

And I could care f’in less. Just please read before making inaccurate comments about my comments because there was no basis for your RR rant. Go Cs…maybe we get OKC and you can bitch about the ‘trade’ all series???

seven turnovers, most in the first half, i blame alot of this mess of a game on rondo… there were many times before the half they had a chance to cut it to 7 at best but under 10 was within their grasp… KG played poor is he hurting?

I expect Boston to win game 7, not for them, but for us the fans… Allowing Lebron James coming into our building and do whatever the f*ck he wanted, even Doc Rivers said he felt they didn’t guard him with too much effort tonight. Sure Lebron’s a beast, but we are a TEAM! one guy cannot win against a team! Anyway I’ll be there on saturday watching the game until the end, and regardless the result I’ll be proud of my TEAM!

Does being a fan really mean you have to be proud of your team no matter how much of a giant stinking crap they lay in the middle of the court?

Lebron was great. But we played like crap. As a brave reporter asked in the presser, one I respect, WHERE WAS THE GRIT AND BALLS TONIGHT?

All I saw was stinking crap, apart from Rondo, who was freaking brilliant.

“brilliant”??? I don’t think 7 TOs and only 2 pts in the second half qualify as brilliant. He played like crap in the first QTR with 1 ast and while he scored 19 I don’t think he would consider his game anywhere near the level you think. Go Cs…

Yeah, you are really full of it, James. Dude, if you can’t tell the difference between a guy making turnovers because he is trying to make something happen, and the rest of the team is in a funk, and a guy just throwing the ball away, you can’t see anything. As for the second half, again, do you attach your eyes to your brain AT ALL, James? Doc clearly had Rondo feeding Pierce for most of the second half. He took the ball out of Rondo’s hands. That was a terrible coaching decision.

Rondo came to play tonight. No one else did.

Before I reply about RR what about Bass…he sure showed up. So did MD who played great but in garbage time as Doc refuses to use his bench. And where was the zone defense? As far as RR is concerned, his TOs were forced and a couple totally unnecessary, such as the lame behind-the-back effort and a couple of really forced passes into the paint. And yes a lot of shots were missed but where were his drives, and rebounding tonight??? Again, 2 pts in the 2nd half does not make his game “brilliant” as you claimed. Go Cs…

I just read all of your replies and I have to agree and disagree with both of you James and Paul. Paul: I will be a proud fan of this celtics because so far they have demonstrated what they’re capable of and they have silenced the stupid media who are always talking shit about them, they said Atlanta would win, then 76s would win and then that miami would win in 5 games at the most. Tonight was different, Rondo played terrible in the first minutes of the 1rst quarter with all of those turnovers, but compensated it with 19 points. I guess that with lebron scoring like a machine, doc rivers tried to get Paul Pierce going, but didn’t realize that he was out of ritm with 3 fouls. That for me was terrible, they didn’t feed KG at the post, Paul tried really hard to create shots and stopped moving the ball, the whole offense was crap at that time, and didn’t help all those stupid fouls (MP, KD,), then I just felt that we could not pass the ball to the post without turning the ball. For me that was it. Next game they should be more careful with the passes, keep the ball moving, stay away from foul trouble and play great defense… it sound like a lot, but they did it for 3 games in a row. This game was won by Lebron, not by the miami heat.

i said it would all be riding on the officiating in game 7 in miami after game 3.why because the nba has a knack for stretching a series for maximum profit.pray to your respective gods that the media made enough of a stink about the bullshit in game 1 and 2 that they will call this one fair.if they do call it fair the spirit of the celtic warriors will triumph and carry them to the championship to cap off this era.

I said Boston in seven before this series started. Here’s to hoping I’m right.

Loved the “Let’s go Celtics” at the end of the game even though they were obviously losing. Also, Doc wrote four words on the white board after the game, “Pack for a week”. Hell yes Doc! I love the confidence!

Jay, I think your recap is all wrong. You did get one thing right. Lebron was brilliant. But the Cs were TERRIBLE on offense in the first half. What made their shooting percentage respectable was Rondo and Bass. The rest of the team was lost in a miasma. They were not moving without the ball, and barely with it. Rondo made a couple of bad passes, but mostly he was trying to make good plays. jesus people, when the team is sinking, you have to TRY TO MAKE PLAYS. When a passer does that, you crucify him for turnovers. DO YOU PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THE GAME AT ALL?

No. I don’t think you do.

Yes, we do. Can you be objective and not see RR through rose colored glasses all the time. He had a great first half but too many TOs (5). His second half sucked. The team sucked and as a leader he should have been a lot more upset than he appeared to be. He also settled for some jumpers (missed) when he should have driven. The team did not show up, led by its Captain (PP). RR gets credit when credit is due but no one played a full 48 min game of effort. Go CS…

love rondo as much as the next guy, but paul you need to re-watch the game. rondo was tryin to make too many plays, he wasnt on his passing game like most nights. he clearly threw the ball away many times in the first half, im talking straight out of bounce. also his over the top passes to Kg were off target one even bounced off the rim, luckly a foul was called, but he wasnt the great rondo we know and love in this game. and im not blaming it all on him, pierce struggled miserably and looked slow and couldnt get off his feet, which is why he didnt get to the line. KG… did he even play? when was the last time he was irrelevant in a big game for the celts?

No way we can play worse , and no way LBJ will be as hot as he was from the floor in game 7. Go Celts, worked too damn hard and fought way too hard to let this one slip away, bring the focus and desire and desperation Saturday!

Haven’t weighed in on the loss til now because frankly it was so utterly disappointing. What kind of garbage was that? LBJ didn’t even look like he was playing hard and he scores 45. The C’s just let him do what he wanted. Where was the stifling D that we saw in Game 5? So many questions, so little time left. Maybe the C’s need to watch that video ”One Last Shot” again, because this could possibly be it. Up until now, the C’s controlled the tempo for the past 3 games and even in Game 2 they played their asses off. WTF happened? All they need now is for the Heat to start playing as a team and not a one man show and the C’s are f–ked. Why Celtics, why… No one knows but I know you must give it…ONE LAST SHOT. Good luck Boston Celtics…18.
