Celtics granted extra draft pick from OKC because of Jeff Green’s heart condition
The NBA has granted Boston a 2013 second-round pick from Oklahoma City in a dispute over Jeff Green's medical condition, sources tell Y!

I’m happy the Celtics picked up another draft pick from OKC. I definitely am. But I want to lock that trade into a storage room and never look at it or think about it ever again. Why must things continue to remind me of that trade? And why am I STILL not over it, even as Kendrick Perkins struggled drastically in the NBA playoffs? Ugh. The life of an over-obsessed blogger.

Cant complain with that. I hope they build a good team this year. Yeah sure, Perk just disappeared in the playoffs suprisingly.

Not surprisingly at all. He was good against SA, terrible against Miami.
This is the entire reason Danny did the trade. He wasn’t worried about the LA/SA/Orlando’s of the world anymore. He wanted athletic perimeter defenders to combat Miami.
He obviously had no idea about the heart condition, who did. But that was the whole point. Perk struggling in help defense against Miami’s athleticism was exactly what he expected.

I agree 100%. And KP’s offense is non-existent. We’re better off and the only reason anyone keeps fretting over the ‘trade’ is that Shaq, JO, Green, Wilcox, and bradley all got injured to end their seasons which would have had us likely raising banner #18 and #19. KP’s defense is overrated to as the Heat drove by him all the time. he is just too slow and DA made the right move. Injuries happen but who would have seen all the injuries we’ve had happening in back-to-back seasons??? Go Cs…

Kendrick Perkins sucks. Jeff Green doesn’t. What else is there to debate again? There was a point where OKC fans seriously debated not playing KP at all. Would we have debated that about Jef Green at any point last season? Seriously, get over Kendrick Perkins. Loyalty never trumps common sense in basketball. Nor should it. OKC fans should hate the trade. Not us.

Don’t include me in your ‘foward for a center’ rant as I’ve never said that. I said we had 3 centers (Shaq, JO and Erden) and needed some bench help. So 4 pts and 7 rebs and 4-5 pfs per game and TOs is a “top center”??? paul…you need koolaide rehab because you have taken so many drinks at your well of delusion that you make us suffer by regurgitating out this crap. In what world is KP a “top center”??? Only your world. Thank God you’re not our GM and we only have to suffer your lame diatribes about how f’in stupid we all are. I guess you don’t remember we had Shaq and were something like 22-3 with him as the starter. As much as I used to enjoy your posts and game analysis you’ve become a senile old crotchety hater. So I think it’s time you take a vacation and come back when you’re sane again. Go Cs…

The Perkins trade killed the team’s chemistry in midseason in 2011. That was the harm it did, but now we are much better without him, and I’d rather have Green should we be able to sign him. The trade at the time brought in a few new players and they couldn’t get in sync. That was the real problem, not that Perkins is some kind of superhuman center. And at the time, Rondo’s game went way down, after losing his best friend. But we’re over it now and after watching the Finals, I would never want Perkins on the floor against the Heat.

Shaq was better than Perkins in 2011 and Perkins is in his prime. Chemistry suffered yes, but seriously? Top center Paul? You’re going into the “skip bayless” zone here. C’mon now.
