Ray Allen plans to sign with Miami Heat, ‘barring change,’ according to report

The general consensus around the NBA is that Ray Allen will sign with Miami. "Barring a change, he'll join the Heat," said a league source.

Good thing teams aren’t officially allowed to speak to free agents until July 1, huh?

Yeah, this is crap. Let’s make something totally ‘happening’ out of pure speculation. Go Cs…

Idk James…this is more than your usual amount of bs speculation. I’m starting to believe he’s as good as gone. The one thing for me is that he hasn’t come out and denied it with a statement or a contract signing. We still have till Sunday though. If he’s truly intent on leaving, we should sign and trade him to Miami for Udonis Haslem.

Udonis will never leave Miami. You can never have him. He was born here, he has won two championships at home, he will retire before he leaves.

See Chris Forsberg’s blog – 2nd story is about RA…seems it is lame speculation, as I mentioned.

We’ll see shortly where he ends up. Go Cs…

Why not just mail the championship trophy to them…Winning it now with 4 maybe 5 super stars is like winning a world series when all played are on drugs….Where is David Stern now????

That is the worst analogy I’ve ever heard. You mentioned the World Series…how about the Yankees having an entire roster of all-stars for much of the 2000′s where they won Championships and were arguably the most successful team in the majors…? Cheating is far different from having talent.

Dwayne Wade isn’t a point guard. Chalmers is good and made strides the entire season last year (not just knee jerking to his couple big playoff games)

The addition of Ray Allen would be good as the first or second guy off the bench. That would give you incredible depth.

Ummmm he’s a Free Agent. Therefore no trade would be necessary and you wouldn’t receive anyone in return if he signs with the Heat.

I mean..wouldn’t a so called “loyal fan” know Ray was a Free Agent already?

From my knowledge isn’t Allen a free agent? Not a Restricted Free Agent…but a FREE agent…therefore Celtics could have tried to keep him…and no team needs to trade to pick him up. Allen would replace James Jones or Mike Miller coming off the bench. Wade would start and Allen would be first rotation. Good move…just can’t see Allen in a Heat uniform… But of the Celtics “big 3 or 4 if u include Rondo”…at least I can say his name without throwing up a little in my mouth.

I like Nash with Heat big 3 over Allen. Nash would be sick creating for Lebron, Bosh and Wade roaming instead of creating and scoring they could concentrate on finishing. Money dumping Miller,Jones and the chance of multible rings should pursuade him to South Beach. Heat should have a billboard. come get your ring in paridise! The Heat is On!!!
