Long, productive, good in transition, solid spot-up shooter. Don’t expect him to become an NBA All-Star any time soon, but the Celtics could have done a lot worse than Kris Joseph with the No. 51 pick.
Plenty more to come in the morning.

I am so stoked on our picks, especially my SU boys. Joseph is great in transition, can shoot, rebound and plays pretty good defense, even though SU plays zone all the time. He was better in his college career than Jeff Green. Knows how to win come crunch time. These 3 guys’ teams were 65-11 last year so they are accustomed to winning. Go Cs…excellent draft.

I’m excited about the Sullinger pick. I think he can be a very reliable pro for many years to come in the NBA. I’m extremely disappointed with the Fab Melo pick though. I’d be surprised if he’s in the league 5 years from now. He’s a 7 footer that doesn’t score or rebound particularly well. Obviously if he can block shots that helps, but I don’t see him being able to step out and hit a 15′ shot consistently like Stiesma can already do. Joseph is a pretty good pick at 51 but if he ends up being better than Jeff Green, I’d be surprised. I was really hoping Darius Miller would have fallen into our laps at 51.

Fab is going to surprise everyone as he’s been working on his jumper, which was pretty decent for the amount of ball he’s played. He can be our center for the next decade plus, I truly believe. Go Cs…

I hope you’re right about Fab,but are you sure your love for the Orangemen isn’t clouding your judgement? How’s he going to be defending man-to-man instead of zone? How’s he going to be at defending the pick and roll?

He’ll be fine. Defense, whether man-to-man or zone all comes down to understanding and DESIRE. Now that KG is back he’ll have one of the best front court players ever as a mentor and teacher. The fact is, if you watched the SU games, Fab is still very raw but still impacted games at key times whether with an offensive reb, a block, a charge, or just clogging the middle. I truly believe that with work and playing time, which we all know he is going to put in, that everyone will forget Perk as Fab has a ton more upside than KP ever had. Ever see KP shoot a 15′ jumper? I am disappointed with our picks but maybe that was as good as we could do, not a lot to look forward to yet. Of course we never play our rookies anyway so what difference does it make? On to free agency!

Go read the articles in the Herald and you should come away feeling a lot better about our picks. I obviously love them and those articles just made me love ‘em more. Go Cs…

I love all the picks except the fab melo pick. I think they had a opportunity to pick two players with lottery potential ( jared sullinger and perry jones III) and both could of brought some youth and some more offense.
