O.J. Mayo, Courtney Lee still apparently being pursued by Boston Celtics
Mentioned most in NBA calls today: Whether or not Celtics can work out sign-and-trade for OJ Mayo, or perhaps Courtney Lee.

If the Celtics can somehow (and improbably) snag either Mayo or Lee, they might go from “well, they’re interesting” to “they might have an actual chance to give the Miami Heat another scare.”
Full disclosure: I’d pick Lee over Mayo. Whereas Mayo has fallen off considerably since assuming a bench role two years ago, Lee has shown an ability to thrive no matter what role he plays.

The play right now is to switch Jason Terry to a sign and trade with the Mavericks, who are recoiling from missing D12 and Deron Williams, and then use their MLE on Lee or Mayo.

I can’t wait till this season starts! If anything you can use the word “intriguing” only because haven’t seen what “The Jet” or Green will bring to the table. We’ve always been scary, and the heat will always be Scared.

Yes, I think it’s shaping up to be a nice little lineup weve got. A perfect balance of youth and veteran players. Hope Doc works wonders with these guys. Definitely like the new additions to this squad and they are STILL contenders.
