Keyon Dooling, Mickael Pietrus could be used in sign-and-trade for Courtney Lee

We’ve spent the last two weeks hearing O.J. Mayo and Courtney Lee rumors. We’ve also spent the last two weeks scratching our heads and saying, “Um, how?”

Keyon Dooling and Mickael Pietrus are reportedly pieces the Boston Celtics could use in a sign-and-trade for Lee. (Boston Globe)

Keyon Dooling and Mickael Pietrus remain candidates to return or be used in a sign-and-trade to perhaps acquire Courtney Lee from the Rockets, but the Celtics will have a clearer picture about other teams’ cap space when the Saturday deadline passes for matching offer sheets.

In other words, the Rockets want a draft pick or two from the Celtics (Dwight Howard is their ultimate goal, remember) and they might be willing to take on a couple of crafty veterans to make the money work. Perhaps this is possible after all, but Ainge still has to be a wizard of persuasion.

For God’s sake, we need Dooling. Do we really want to go without a Rondo Whisperer?

I guess the idea is to play Jet at the 1-2 positions.
anyway, Houston just amnestied Scola to free cap space. the project seems to be lure Orlando to trade Howard, and get the full Orlando overpaid crew as well (Turkoglu, Davis, etc), so maybe the won’t be as greedy in terms of players as they will be in terms of picks

Exactly! Keyon’s obvious improvement must be due to him training and practicing with Rondo. My point is, they click and he knows the system well. Plus his defense? CRAZY! Idk why DA and Doc can’t see all that. C’s don’t need Courtney Lee if they are gonna be giving up shyt for him. And he can’t be acquired by any other way because of cap space that isn’t available or so. They should just keep Dooling. Terry backs up Rondo and Dooling backs up Avery or heck, he starts (if Avery is still out due to injury). Come play offs Avery will be ready n fit to play so it shouldn’t be an issue. And if it is, I’m sure they will get someone else during the trade line.

I would use JJ in a sign and trade. I’d keep MP as his skill set is really valuable as a 3-shooter, driver, and very good defender (wings especially). Joseph replaces JJ and is better than JJ. As much as I dislike KD’s game at times (a lot) I understand his value and would not be opposed to his return. But giving up MP would be a mistake. Go Cs…get Lee!

I don’t think Pietrus would take any part in a S&T. I think he can make more $$ elsewhere than what we can offer. He’s made it clear he wants to return to the Celtics, so I don’t think he’d actively participate under this conditions to a deal that would send him away and at a discount.

Have to agree totally, as MP has always expressed his love for this team and desire to be a C. He’s the exact type of player we want and need. Go Cs…

you people are delusional. How about C’s sign the whole Bobcats team cos obviously with how crappy the team n management is, they would wish they were on a better team and Celtics is a much better team. Stop being delusional, MP is not a consistent or efficient player and just because he wants to be on the team does not mean he should be on it. If the management is wise, he’s gone.

So who would you rather keep MP or JJ? I think MP played pretty decent for no training camp and being injured (concussion and knee surgery after season). MP took too many 3s for my liking (settled, etc.), but he can defend and is awesome when he drives to the hoop. With a camp and having a year of time with the team I think he can significantly improve on his stats, especially since we are going to run more. Go Cs…

Keyon Dooling, Mickael Pietrus could be used in sign-and-trade for Courtney Lee? Don’t the Celtics need a back-up PG? Shouldn’t, Ainge be looking for a couple of veteran big men? What is god’s name is Danny doing now.

I don’t know about MP either. He defended LBJ pretty good last year in the ECF although I wasnt happy about he guarantee of a title.
