Courtney Lee trade to be finalized today, Sasha Pavlovic added to deal
If I had initially known that Sasha Pavlovic would be included in the Courtney Lee deal, I would have, well, still done naked cartwheels of joy in the streets. Pavlovic and a third team were added to the trade, but most importantly, the Celtics will still acquire Lee. (Boston Herald)
It took awhile and a couple of false starts, but the Celticsgot their man last night, acquiring Courtney Lee from Houston in a sign and trade for JaJuan Johnson, E’Twaun Moore, Sean Williams, Sasha Pavlovic and a second-round draft pick. The paperwork is expected to be finalized today.
The deal originally had Phoenix and New Orleans as facilitators, but that came apart late yesterday afternoon Pacific time. Late last night, Portland became the third team and Pavlovic was included. The amended details were still being learned as the Herald’s final print deadline passed, but the Celts will clearly be ecstatic to acquire the coveted 6-foot-5 Lee without disturbing their main rotation.
Danny Ainge is my hero. Also, the Dark Knight Rises is friggin’ awesome, even when you have to sit in the very first row and your neck hurts like a bitch afterward.

Was it better than The Dark Knight from 2008? That’s a TOUGH act to follow.

I think Christian Bale is by far the best person ever to play Batman, and Catwoman is mega-hawt, but other than that I think the Batman movies, especially the Dark Knight ones, are mind poison.
Speaking of poison, I think that Danny Ainge has gone a long way towards making up for his horrible mistakes of the past few years. He’s made smart moves this summer, building on the team’s strengths, and the Ainge Express seems to have calmed down quite a bit.
I think his offer to Allen, at twice the money Miami was offering, and with some sort of no-trade provision on the table, can be seen as a kind of mea culpa.
But we need Dooling, and possibly Pietrus. We need our Rondo Whisperer for sure.

Has to be a great summer if paul is saying anything nice about DA. Great acquisition. And with 12 spots now taken we can get MP back and I’d even settle for KD and then we have our biannual exception or maybe Christmas will be coming to the Cs early this year. Go Cs…

I don’t think DA’s built this team just to end up trading players 6 months later. He’s building for title runs and unless some major star is available I wouldn’t be happy trading anyone for at least a year so we can see what they are bringing, etc. Go Cs…

The Celtics have really set themselves up to be a rather good team. Idk where he will find minutes w/ Avery Bradley and Jason Terry playing that spot.

Ainge exec of the year.
let’s try to wrap it up:
point guards: RR
guards: Lee, Jet, AB
small forwards: PP, Green, K. Jospeh (?)
power fowards: Bass, Sullinger
center: Garnett, Wilcox, Melo
mmhh…
with Green capable of covering both forward positions (at least for short stints) I think we’re fine a PF. The loss of Moore, that was playing combo guard in the summer league, left us uncovered at the 1/2 position, until AB is back.
Fron January on I really don’t see a spot for Pietrus, even if I love the man. Rather, I wouldn’t like to see A LOT of KG during the regualr season, so adding another big man wouldn’t hurt

Joseph is definitely making the team and will push JG if given the opportunity, which Doc is always hesitant about. Go Cs…
