Video: Jason Terry thrilled to play with Boston Celtics, seems awesome
One underrated aspect of Danny Ainge’s offseason manna from heaven is that, just like last year, he managed to stock the roster with quality human beings who are likely to form a cohesive locker room and maybe even help several elderly women cross the street. Jason Terry, Courtney Lee, Jeff Green, Jared Sullinger and Chris Wilcox make a second unit that will have considerably more talent than last year’s. But importantly to Ainge, the bench also contains zero knuckleheads.
Terry and Lee are known as solid influences on a team. Dirk Nowitzki almost drowned Germany with tears when the Dallas Mavericks let go of Terry — or, at least, that’s how I envision it. The Celtics liked Green enough to treat him as a brother during his recovery from heart surgery, and the same goes for Wilcox. Sullinger seems like a down-to-earth college superstar always prepared with a grin, not to mention an explanation of basketball skills that highlights his knowledge of the game.
Moving further down the bench, Dionte Christmas seems like a humble, hungry dude with a work ethic hardened by three years overseas. Keyon Dooling is known as “The Reverend” and earned enough respect in Boston that his occasional halftime locker room speeches go over well even among the superstars. Jason Collins could use a better pair of mitts, but he’s a veteran who knows his role. And I barely know anything about the personalities of Fab Melo, Jamar Smith and Kris Joseph, but I imagine they spend their Saturday nights volunteering at homeless shelters.
Ainge’s biggest goal last year was ridding the bench of problem children. He accomplished that same goal this year while significantly upgrading the team’s talent level.
A-plus, Danny. A-plus.

Was watching some Jeff Green highlights (from his last few Celtics games) as he was especially good on the low block, either posting up guys like Danny Granger or doing the triple threat against guys like Amare Stoudemire. He’s certainly a capable rebounder too, he just needs to find the right position on the floor. I truly believe that being in a set system will help his game flourish. I will still stand by my belief that he deserves the starting 4 spot, but I’ll be fine with him coming off the bench for the beginning of the season. Another thing I noticed is that Miami got worse on defense this offseason. Judas can’t guard the chair I’m sitting in, and has Rashard Lewis ever been a good defensive player? Add that with the defensively inept mike miller, the overrated and slow Shane Battier, same thing with Udonis Haslem, and Miami is suddenly a lot worse on defense. They’ll need their big 2.5 on the floor at all times against us, which is even better since we’re 10x deeper now and we can wear THEM down instead of the other way around.

We are going to be one bad-ass team, especially if Doc has them focused on rebounding the ball at BOTH ends. I can see us opening 25-5 or so and being the surprise of the league as everyone is under-rating us already, especially with the ‘too old’ crap. Go Cs…hurry up and get summer over with so we can enjoy this and please sign MP!

We’d have a better team if AB wasn’t a greg oden style bust. Out for 2 months again …injured every season.

Give it a f’in rest…len. Again, are you the doctor? You show us an article saying he’s DEFINITELY out until January (that’s 2 months of the reg season). And to compare him to Oden is absolutely pathetic and just shows your lack of hoops knowledge. Obviously, you hate AB so why not just say so and leave it at that??? Go Cs…

Because he is Judas and the only addition we got after he left was Lee, an added bonus. I believe in fighting with your friends and teammates and not bailing because things look ‘too tough’ to negotiate to the ultimate goal. Ergo, Judas is exactly that. Why do you have so much hate going on for AB. Our team is great even if AB was to sit out the whole year, but I expect him back and for his play to shut you up once and for all. Stop buying into ‘expert’ reports (they’re not) and wait until training camp to see where AB’s status stands??? Go Cs…

See the word ‘rumors’ in the title of the article you posted. Stay away from those, as they are usually B.S. Ergo, why they are called rumors. Anyone can generate one, so they are worthless. I’ll wait for the Cs’ medical staff and mgmt. (DA or Doc) to fill us in. Go Cs…

He was a free agent, had no obligations, could go wherever he wanted…everything else is just a heap of sh*t you have decided to heap on him…your personal expectations for him…as if you would want someone doing that to you. He gave it all when he was under contract…no one will dispute that.

When he was a C yes he gave it his all. And then he gave his middle finger to his teammates and the Cs organization. Deal with it. Go Cs…

Dude, you should probably chill. Bradley might even be back for training camp for all we know. Not sure why you have hatred for him. Calling him a bust? Really? That’s ignorance talking.

3 years as a pro, 3 injuries resulting in partial seasons or unavailability for the playoffs. He’s batting 3 for 3. What would you call that?

No our starting SG is AB, and Lee is starting until AB gets back. Cs’ policy, as with most teams, is a player does not lose his starting position because of injury. AB will start when he’s ready. Go Cs…

No, AB will start because if Judas had been healthy when he came back then he would have started. But the fact was he was still injured and his surgery proved so. Time will tell. Go Cs…

So I suppose Dwayne Wade is a bust? He’s had serious injuries. And what of Derrick rose? We all saw his injuries? Oh and what about Rudy Gay who missed a whole season? Are THEY busts too? Dude your expecting dudes to be 100% healthy all year. Players get injured. It’s a part of the game. And from what I recall his injuries haven’t hampered his progression at all. He’s still poised to be a borderline star this year. So please, find something else to harp on.

No..it is 3 seasons so far…missed time every season due to injury. Just reporting the facts. PP how much time has he lost in his whole career?…less than AB has in only 3 seasons. Let’s not be stupid.

Nice way of avoiding my other post. And how many games has he missed? Enough to effect his abilities? No. Stop being stupid.

Other than not being available until February his rookie season, and being out when we really needed him in last years playoffs, and now “rumored” to being out for up to 2 months this up coming season, with 1 of the 2 months confirmed as fact by DA, no it has not affected his abilities.

It is not hard to understand…what is the problem?…he is not naturally talented enough to make a big impact on the NBA level. What does he do? Because he is a hard-worker he overcompensate..does not, to use a cliche, play within himself…he plays with every ounce of effort he has at which point he loses some control over of his body and becomes injure prone. That is his sad story. There is nothing in his NBA history that contradicts that. If you watch him play it is self evident. Compare him to Rondo for example who plays tall and upright…Even though Bradley is short he has to play in a prone position.

Your argument is so flawed. AB is 6’2″ and RR is 6’1″. Go look up the stats before you make inane arguments. and again, being rated #1, #4, and #5 in his senior yr of high school means he’s TALENTED. Players don’t get to that level using “over compensation”. Your argument is worthless like the rumors you are using. The facts will play out when camp opens and when AB returns. Go Cs…

The only thing inane is quoting a HS rating and assuming that automatically makes him a NBA player. There is no rumor…he will not open the season…Ainge has stated he will miss a month or more…that is not a rumor. AB is a good player when healthy but his track record is not good….that is a matter of record…not opinion.

Yep, Rivals.com, ESPNU and the other HS rating services are crap. Stop twisting my words. I did not say the rating “automatically makes him an NBA player” . I did say that to make the lists that high, including being rated the very top HS player…one needs TALENT. You’re argument was that AB has “limited’ talent and needs to overcompensate in order to play as well as he does. That’s B.S. just like your points. The horse is officially beaten to death so let’s move on. Go Cs…

The fact that you would compare RR to AB is pure insanity. They’re two different players. And apparently it didn’t impact him enough to the point where Jeff Van Gundy called AB the best on ball defender did it?
