Jeff Green (finally!) set to (actually!) sign with the Boston Celtics

After 17 decades, eight years, four months, 24 days, nine hours and 27 Lord of the Rings marathons of imminence, an end to Jeff Green’s contract limbo is finally within view. (Gary Washburn Twitter)

For those who missed it earlier, David Falk, the agent for Jeff Green, told Boston Globe that his client’s deal with #celtics is close and should be official next week.

As Gethin Coolbaugh pointed out, Green’s contract situation was beginning to resemble the Big Dig. But now we can cheers–cheers to never receiving another query about Green’s status, cheers to a man who recovered nicely from scary heart surgery, cheers to a four-year contract worth a significant chunk of money, given to a player whose potential has to this point outweighed his production by several tons.

Green will soon (and finally) sign his major deal with the Boston Celtics. The jury remains in deliberation.
