Roster Countdown: 4. Avery Bradley

With the most exciting moments of the offseason behind us, Celtics Town is counting down the Celtics’ roster from 16 to one. We’ll offer speculation on the role each player has to play, and where they’ll be in the rotation as we look towards the upcoming season. If you missed the last column in this series you can check it out here.
Avery Bradley has been well covered on this site this season, so I’m going to take a moment to link you to all the statistical, positional, and health related postings we’ve had on the young shooting guard thus far this postseason.
Jesse Doran, with some interesting thoughts on Bradley’s playing time next season, and how he may need to save himself to keep some gas in his tank.
Our fearless leader Jay King, with the latest health related news on AB.
And myself on Boston’s 3-point outlook (including Bradley), Bradley and Garnett’s super-sappy bromance, and an examination of Bradley v. Ray Allen in 5-man units.
If you are still with us, I laud your dedication to this site. But instead of examining Avery Bradley statistically, I’m going to talk about the Avery Bradley shirtsey my sister just got for me for my birthday.
I had wanted a shirtsey for a while. I don’t wear jerseys except on the basketball court since I don’t really like shoving my sweaty armpits in people’s faces, so if I want to show support for a specific person, a shirtsey is really my only option.
Also: shirtseys are considerably cheaper, and since they are cheaper, they are also less permanent. Quite frankly, we don’t know a ton about Bradley yet. Sure, we loved his defense, we loved his sense of when to cut, we loved his corner 3-point shooting, we loved his attitude. But in such a small sample size, it’s difficult to make a snap judgment based on this season.
Thus, a shirtsey. Inexpensive and supportive, and not overly spendy in a way that will make me regret it if Bradley doesn’t work out. I’d make a long, over-thought metaphor about how my shirtsey’s inexpensive usefulness represents AB, but quite frankly, you all saw it coming anyway. So I’ll leave it alone.

Good luck on the road to recovery Avery. I still believe you could be the next Iverson if you work at it. Be back soon, we need more Dwayne Wade disrespecters in the game…
