Jeff Green tells Celtics fans exactly what they want to hear

Jeff Green spoke with reporters including Chris Forsberg of ESPN Boston after a charity event in Dorchester, touching on some areas for improvement (see what I did there?) he has for the upcoming season:

“Just probably being more assertive, more aggressive in certain situations. That’s about it. My game pretty much speaks for itself — a guy who can play multiple positions… attack in different situations. My game is what it is; I just have to improve on different things. Just show it out there on the court.”

“Rebounding. Being aggressive towards the ball. It’s a hard thing, but you just have to go out there and want to do it. That’s about it.”

Perfect answer.  Bring shivers down the spine, to both acknowledge where to use his strengths and exploit the opposition while at the same time pinpointing the areas where his personal improvements would render increased quality of play from the C’s.  Perhaps KG can toss some of his ‘grit and balls’ Jeff Green’s way, as it seems to be just what he is looking for.

The Georgetown product also touched on running the fast break with Rondo:  ”Who doesn’t want to play with Rondo? The guy can pass the ball very very well, to the best of them in this league. Who doesn’t want to run up and down the court?”  I didn’t see the video footage of the presser, but I could imagine Green saying this with wishful eyes and a pleased grin.  I bet rehab was easier knowing that RR would be dishing him passes for easy jumpers when the 2012-13 season finally tips.
