This probably won’t be your last Darko update of the day, but here’s the latest from the must-follow Twitter account A. Sherrod Blakely:
Blakely later reported that Darko’s deal will be a one-year contract at the NBA minimum.
I promised Jay and the rest of the Celtics Town writers that I wouldn’t throw the kind of tantrum on here that I’ve been throwing all morning on Twitter (editor’s note: Jay all but begged for a meltdown on the site, too). But I would like to point out three things.
- Timberwolves writer Derek James asked me if Darko rumors were true or just a deep-seeded fear. When I told him that the rumors seemed legit, he pointed out that Boston will eat Darko alive. He’s absolutely right. Boston, a city that values hard work and tough players, couldn’t be a worse fit for Darko, an emotionally fragile player prone to long stretches of on-court pouting.
- Timberwolves people in general are in agreement with me. Trust us, the people who have been watching him and running the numbers for four years. It’s easy to talk oneself into tall players who used to have potential. That just makes it all the more disheartening when they seem completely uninterested in playing basketball.
- I really don’t like Darko.
That will be all.
