Keyon Dooling discusses being sexually abused, defends Rajon Rondo, spits all kinds of knowledge
I don’t want to disrespect Jessica Camerato’s piece by block-quoting it. Just go read this. Now. Pay extra attention to Dooling’s discussion of being sexually abused, his quotes on Rajon Rondo (“I wish [the media] knew my friend the way I did”) and his daring (and without thinking too much about it, accurate) point about Kevin Garnett changing basketball as much as anyone in his generation.

Kinda crazy how I interpreted what he said in that video a year ago is the complete polar opposite of how I interpret it now. Great guy..He really should be a Reverend, ha.

great piece, keyon is a good dude… its great to hear a story like his when we are used to hearing about knuckle head athletes getting dui’s, arrested for assault on women, or drug possession.
my favorite part is he is a realist, hes done his time , hes played the game he loves for over a decade, is rich as fuck, and is now walking away healthy on his on will and is doing right by his family… perfect.
sometimes i think about these athletes and what it would be like to be their child…. ya its cool lebron is your dad, but whats cool about never seeing him? road trips, 82 games… playoffs, olympics, training, endorsements… ya they pay the bills and the money probably gives them a better life then any of us can imagine.. im sure they try to be good fathers , but when your never around how much of a father can you be?
my little rant of the day… congrats to keyon on a great career and for truly being a good role model.

My rant is that I think it’s quite crazy that you seem to equate possessing a harmless substance that has been demonized to assaulting a woman, in terms of badness. Even IF possessing drugs is wrong, which I think any free thinking person ought to doubt, is it really a serious wrongdoing on the level of assault? No. Clearly not.

Amazing piece by Dooling and Camarato (the best local celtics writer?). But Dooling needs to watch his back around ‘Don King’ Billy Hunter…

While I was never a fan of KD’s play, and critical of it a lot last season, his mentoring of RR was a great thing and after reading this great article I have tremendous respect for him and wish him the very best going forward in life. Go Cs…
