Doc Rivers says offense will contain ‘more fast breaks’
When asked about the changes the Celtics will make this season after the loss of he who must not be named, Doc Rivers, as part of Celtics media day for celtics.com, said, “We were third or fourth in shooting percentage last year, and 30th in field goal attempts. That’s going to change.”
He also went on to say that the Celtics will push the tempo in attempts to take advantage of the high shooting percentage.
Rondo echoed Rivers’ comments, saying that he will “dribble the ball down the court less and try to advance the ball more.” The Celtics certainly have the line-ups to do it, potentially running with Wilcox, Green, Lee, Bradley/Terry, and Rondo. Hard not to be on your heals as a defender trying to stop those five on the break. Hopefully they take notes and listen to the great Red Auerbach.
