These dudes are going to be able to score for days, assuming Doc Rivers can ever settle on a way to maximize his crazy-deep squad.

Can’t complain with that although we now have a plethora of guys who can play SF. What happened to our back PG?

Barbosa is a Guard, not a SF.
And he does well when given a reserve role. I think he averaged 12 ppg and 4 rebounds on 22 minutes a game. This isn’t a game changer on a huge level, but is yet another move that makes sense.

He is not a PG…the Celtics have a glut at SG…it does not make sense. It almost seems stupid.

No, he’s capable of bringing the ball up court and starting a play. While scoring 12 points. What’s there to not understand? Would you rather rondo play 48 minutes a game?

My mistake, thank u for enlightening me oh wise one. All the same, we have enough in that position also. Still he’s a good player to have on the roster, maybe we can use him as back up PG. After all, RR won’t be giving up too many minutes, he normally plays most of each game.

He is a guard that can do a lot of things better than Xmas or Smith. We do not need a pure back-up PG. We need players that complement the team and the team’s goal of getting to the Finals for banner #18. I like the signing. If we have PG issues we have plenty of guards that can bring the ball up. It’s not about having a pure passing PG, as everyone needs to be passing the ball. Go Cs…

There is a reason RR plays too many minutes…not just any dribbler can bring the ball up and direct the team and make the right play. A good point guard has great court vision, instincts, judgement and excellent passing and penetration skills. I am surprised that is not important to you.

It is extremely important but AB, JT, CL and now LB can all bring the ball up. Hell, PP can do that and used to all the time. Now while we may lose RR’s radar and pinpoint passes the others can all get the ball up so our offense can operate; which should be moving without the ball, setting picks, rolling and passing frequently for the best shot or mismatch. Remember, LB had Nash as his PG so he did not need to bring the ball up. I see AB as RR’s back-up when RR needs a rest and JT or CL are in the game with RR for AB to rest. Go Cs…
