Several Boston Celtics regulars to sit tonight, including Kevin Garnett, Brandon Bass and Paul Pierce
Bass suffered a bruised knee Thursday night and Pierce twisted his ankle, but neither injuries are expected to be serious.
I kinda wish Doc would play the regulars both tonight and tomorrow. I know the Celtics looked good (check that — great) Thursday, but they’ve played exactly one complete game all preseason. Doc has 2.7 million new lineups with which to experiment, and the Celtics hadn’t looked fully comfortable or cohesive until Thursday night — which, again, was just one game.
I know the Celtics have a back-to-back today and tomorrow and Doc doesn’t want his veterans to play a preseason back-to-back. That’s understandable. But after tomorrow, the Celtics have eight days of rest and practice to prepare for the Miami Heat on opening night. With so much time off, chemistry, in my eyes, is more important than rest at this stage. But maybe I’m just a blabbering moron.

I like the rest given to them, now we can see Jeff Green start & see how he does there & we get to see more Kris Joseph & a lot of Fab Melo’s goaltends. WWWWOOOO!!

I almost bought tickets for this game when it was announced but worried this might happen. I have no problem with resting players. They get rest and don’t risk injury. New guys get to play. Doc puts a lot of stock in practice and this team will have things in order when the season starts. A lot can be done in practice when you have a second unit like this.
