Kevin Garnett cannot fathom how Kevin Durant worked out with LeBron James during NBA offseason

When Kevin Garnett loses in the NBA postseason, I imagine he locks himself in a 4 x 12 room, transforms into something resembling the Incredible Hulk, except harrier, howls at the moon continuously, and drinks nothing but V8 juice all summer just so he can feel as much pain as possible.

Given how much he loathes his opponents (remember, he deleted Ray Allen’s phone number this summer), Garnett cannot fathom how Kevin Durant worked out with LeBron James during the NBA offseason. (Sports on Earth)

“You only get so many chances to win the whole thing,” Garnett told Leigh Montville of Sports on Earth. “You have to do it when you can. We came so close, three years ago against L.A. Seventh game. Last year against Miami, seventh game … pissed is a good word. Yeah, I was pissed. Miami goes against Oklahoma City after us and just blows them out. Then Kevin Durant goes and works out with LeBron. What’s that about? Yeah, pissed.”

Go read the whole story about Garnett on Sports on Earth. It’s really quite good.

P.S. — The Boston Celtics are playing real basketball tonight. I’ve been hearing imaginary trumpets inside of my head all morning. I wrote something for MassLive about the respect both teams have for each other. Check it if you love me.

Yo, I’m wit my man KG all da way on this 1. I feel ya pain brotha. Losing 2 Game 7 has got to hurt. Imagine that, Paul Pierce goin and workin out with Kobe after losing a Game 7. Or Jordan workin out with Malone and Stockton after beating them in Game 6? The youth in this day and age have no ethics like we did in the 90′s. All these young fools is on some punk shit. They listen to garbage like Drake, Lil Wayne, Kanye and Nicki Minaj. Yo, when I was comin up, I was rockin Grandmasta Flash, Afrika Bambaataa, Whodini and Ice T. Big difference. LET’S GO CELTICS, BEAT THE HEAT (LITERALLY).

Most important Celtic is KG? No. Not if we are going to win a championship. But he certainly is one of the top five alltime.

    Russell
    Bird
    Cowens
    Cooz
    Garnett

    Havlicek
    Pierce
    Heinsohn
    Mchale
    Parish

    Sam Jones
    JoJo White
    Dennis Johnson
    Sharman
    Rondo

    Silas
    Ramsey
    Ray Allen
    Reggie Lewis
    Easy Ed

Got to include Allen on the alltime list. But he certainly worked his way down the list with recent escapades, and Rondo will surely work his way much higher. If we win a championship this season, Pierce and Garnett will have to rise higher too. Then the top five would look like this:

    Russell
    Bird
    Garnett
    Cowens
    Pierce

But for this year? Give me a break. Garnett may be the root of the tree, and Pierce may be the trunk, but Rondo is the leaves.

Where’s KC Jones, Nate Archibald, Larry Siegfried and Cedric Maxwell??? Sam Jones and Havlicek are better than KG and Cowens and should be in Group #1. Good list though. Go Cs…

I can’t believe Durant did what he did. Never in a million years would Bird have gone and worked out with Magic after the ’85 loss, or even a regular season loss. Ever, ever, ever. I am with KG on this one. Go Cs…
