Alas, December 15th is upon us: Courtney Lee, now eligible to be traded, has reportedly been “repeatedly” shopped
Among the list of Celtics, it has been said that Courtney Lee is the most likely of the Boston crew to get shipped elsewhere (as per ESPN’s Marc Stein). With the return of Avery Bradley around the corner, the Celtics list of two guards is longer than my 8-year-old Christmas wish list. The Celtics list for Santa Claus begins with a big man, followed up by a backup point guard.
Lee is coming off one of his stronger performances against Houston where he was an active defender and got good looks on the offensive end. He fills a void for Boston now, but it is hard to argue that Bradley doesn’t fill that hole better when he returns.
Marcin Gortat has been linked to the Celtics, but it will take more than just Lee for the Suns to part with their big man. Lets see if Danny Ainge can get creative to remedy some of the Celtics rebounding woes, or better yet take to the NBA trade machine and fulfill all of my NBA GM fantasies.
