Rajon Rondo suspended one game for bumping a referee, out tonight against the Knicks
The Celtics will be without Rajon Rondo against the Knicks as he serves a one game suspension for bumping a referee Friday night during the Celtics victory over the Hawks. You can check out video of the incident here.
Rondo was not given a technical during the game for the contact, but the incident was apparently brought to the leagues attention following the game. After Rondo was seemingly unavailable when the league attempted to contact him (hence “failing to cooperate with league investigation”) it was deemed a suspension worthy offense. This is Rondo’s fourth suspension in the past twelve months, and third for altercations with referees.
Jason Terry will start tonight in Rondo’s place.
