Carmelo Anthony waited for Kevin Garnett by Boston Celtics’ bus after loss

Here's the most intimidating face you will see all day.

You may have already heard, but Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony are pretty mad at each other. And not in the typical “He hit me, but it is what it is” kind of way, but in the “I actually want to beat the living breathing crap out of that guy” kind of way.

The evidence? This video from CSNNE of Carmelo Anthony waiting outside the arena for the Celtics to make their way to the team bus.

The video sounds more dramatic than it is. It sounds like a bristling Anthony frothing at the mouth and ready to go crazy, not a mostly-collected Anthony being restrained by roughly 450,000 guys in suits, but his presence is still noteworthy.

Let me just say this: I’m sure Garnett said something unpleasant because, frankly, that’s what Garnett does. He gets under his opponent’s skin. But I’m not sure why Carmelo, a superstar veteran and an MVP candidate this year, let Garnett get under his skin like this. Garnett (and really, this whole Celtics team) thrives off starting little fights and feuds with opponents. So by going after Garnett, Melo is really playing into his hands, which is a mistake he should know better than to make.

I’m sure we will hear plenty more about this story since it involves narrative, and many media outlets chase narrative far more than stories like “The Celtics just won three consecutive tough games against three very good Eastern Conference teams.”

But it is what it is.

What happens on the court stays on the court. Melo takin it way too personal. It’s only a game. And no he won’t ever be on Garnett’s level.
