NBA Trade Rumors 2013: Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce both rumored parts of deals
Chris Broussard was unconvinced.
But Sam Amico’s sources told him the same thing and added to it.
So really, we know everything (in that we know all of the truth, rumors, lies, spin etc.) and we know nothing (in that we don’t know which is which). Once again, even though we all know this by now, it’s worth pointing out once more that KG has a no-trade clause, so he can say no to any deal he doesn’t like. People have made the case that he might want to chase one more ring with the Clippers, but I’m not altogether convinced that he wouldn’t rather lose in the first round in Boston. Maybe I’m naive, but that seems more like his personality.
As for the Pierce rumors? We can’t possibly know how to evaluate them, although it’s possible that, after Pierce’s recent success, Ainge is just testing the water to see what’s available.
If the deals go through, it’s hard to imagine Celtics fans reacting well to the news that a team that just beat Miami, both LA teams, Denver and Chicago and has won seven of their last eight is being broken up. But we will have to wait and see.
Just five more days until the trade deadline.

This is why I can’t stand fans who criticize players for not being loyal. Seriously when I see posts calling players traitors I just have to wonder if the poster has half a brain. Pierce and Garnett have been loyal, heroic soldiers for the Celtics, they have both indicated they want to retire a Celtic, but to management they are just pawns.

actually, we criticize players for turning down a lot of money and a 6th man role to sign elsewhere for half the money and a lesser role.
but they’ll always be celtics, inside.
yeah sure.

Do you think KG would ratehr stay here and loose in the first round or go to LAC and help them win and go deeper into the playoffs? Come on he has enough money so it is about can I win another ring here? Imagine how muhc of a hero he woudl be in LA if the got them to the top or even close? He could retire and do comericals in the biggest market out there. For teh Celtics they get a decent your guard and center. To go along with the trade of rondo next year once he can show he is healthy this team will not have to hit the bottom but build for the future. I say if you cna get something good for pierce you ask him if he would mind and let him go. If theseplayers see no future rings here and tehy are ok with a change then why not. They deserve it. SO do the Celtics fans! They can come back and retire here or enjoy the standing ovations they will get every time they come back to play or visit.

I have no problem trading PP or KG if they ok the deal. KG can decide if he wants to go…and he has stated he won’t go unless PP goes too. I just have no patience for people who talk out of both sides of their mouth. Lets trade our loyal players and then criticize a player when he decides to leave. Obviously you have to have a selfish, twisted mind to hold to both positions.

These are stupid rumors and mean nothing. I seriously doubt DA would blow up the team when being healthy and a center away from being a top 4 team is how close we are considering the recent play of this team. We can get a big in the off-season, develop FAB, and have 4 draft picks this year (1st and 3 2nds including Charlotte’s or #1 in 2nd rnd). If the right strategy is used we will be a top contender again next season. KG & PP will retire as Celtics. Go Cs…and Judas was a traitor!!!

As surmised, nothing more than crap rumors. Go Cs…re-tool for next year!

Yeah Judas, we ain’t forgot about you. Nothing more than a quitter and unfortunately, you always will be a Celtic. A hated one at that. Before goin to Miami, we always loved you, now you can never shake the tag of being a traitor. Biggest sellout move.

I say leave the team intact and bring in Tracy McGrady and Kenyon Martin. McGrady can shoot, play guard or small forward. Kenyon Martin can give us as much or more than what James Posey gave us in 2008.

Agreed. Kmart, T Mac, AI or GA would help this team.

Vinny is willing to give up Eric Bledsoe and DeAndre Jordan for KG? Thankfully he’s not the one that makes the roster moves. Giving up two up and comers for an aging washed up big man. Does not make plenty of sense to me.
