Boston Celtics still in the running for Greg Oden’s services, next season
According to Shaun Powell, the Celtics are among three teams still in the running for Greg Oden’s services. The Cavs should still have the inside track here, because of the three teams mentioned the Cavs are the only team of the three mentioned that can offer Oden more than the veteran minimum. It’s possible the Celtics (or the Heat) could make some cap clearing moves (trading Terry or Bass for example) to get under the tax line and free up some cash for Oden, but the more complicated a move like this becomes the tougher it is to pull off, and thats without factoring in Oden’s Ohio ties. I wouldn’t hold my breath but it’s something worth keeping an eye on.
