I am now convinced that the rumored deal that would send Doc Rivers and Kevin Garnett to the Clippers is actually subliminal advertising for Brad Pitt’s latest movie “World War Z,” because it has died and risen so many times, I can’t help but conclude that it’s undead and trying to eat my soul.
And now, apparently, we have re-re-re-reached the “The deal is dead” portion of our show. In this episode, sources have once again declared the deal “dead and unlikely to return,” or at least “unlikely to return until Chris Paul slaps a higher-up and asks why they don’t feel his return is worth a first round pick for Doc Rivers.”
Here’s Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald:
A league source just told the Herald that negotiations between the Celtics and Clippers over the release of Doc Rivers from his contract have ended.
Though there is a slim chance that talks could resume for a third time, both sides appeared to acknowledge today that nothing can be gained.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, FINISH IT. DOUBLE TAP IT. KILL IT FOREVER, AND SEND IT BACK TO HELL WHERE IT CAME FROM.
And by “Hell,” of course, I mean Donald Sterling’s house.
