The Morning Walkthrough: Rondo, Pierce compete

The Celtics have gotten rid of their morning walkthrough, but that doesn’t mean we have to. Here are a few Celtics links, and maybe even an NBA link or two, to help wake you up and get you focused for the day.

Mark Murphy, Boston Herald- “He’s since learned to ease up on the peripheral aspects of All-Star Weekend, though, blaming an overactive nightlife for his last-place finish in the 3-point contest in 2002. ‘I’m here because I enjoy it,’ he said. ‘It doesn’t get old to me. I love being around my peers, I love the camaraderie, I love the locker room, I love the meetings. There’s going to come a day when I don’t make the All-Star Game, and I won’t be here talking to you guys, so I soak it up and enjoy it all the time.’”

Steve Bulpett, Boston Herald- “There’s no team or players in the NBA that look at Boston and feel like, ‘Yeah, OK, they’re falling off,’ ” James said. “That team is still to be reckoned with.”

Greg Payne, Celtics Blog- “Is a win in the three-point shootout enough to get your team back on track? It sure would be nice if this somehow, in some crazy way, translated back onto the court. Either way, it was a heck of a competition and Pierce absolutely brought it. You could tell he wanted to win this, as evidenced by his primal scream once he got to the center rack during the second round.”

Greg Payne, Celtics Blog- “H-O-R-S-E came down to a three-point shootout from the top of the key due to time constraints and despite a truly valiant effort from Rajon Rondo, Kevin Durant took the competition for the second year in a row.”

Have a link I might want to look at? Send it my way by email (thomasking@celticstown.com) or Twitter.
