Rumor: Ray Allen for Monta Ellis?

"I think Boston might be a better playing environment than Golden St...."

Via CSNNE:

While the Celtics have maintained repeatedly that they have no intentions of moving any of their core guys between now and the Feb. 18 trading deadline — and I believe ‘em on this one –  multiple league sources confirmed today that the Golden State Warriors are giving some thought to putting together a trade package that would involve Monta Ellis going to Boston in exchange for Allen.

…

For such a deal to work, the Warriors would have to include at least one additional salary. The most likely player to be included would be Vladamir Radmonovic, who has a player option after this season but isn’t expected to exercise it.

Say it ain’t so, Celts.  Say it ain’t so.

Not only does Monta Ellis have a worse history with dumb injuries than Big Baby, but it would be very difficult to match Ellis and Rondo in the same backcourt.  They would simply be too small.

Ellis is a nice talent, but the Celts are better off going a different direction for the future.

Maine vs. Bakersfield Preview

Maine Red Claws (7-2) vs. Bakersfield Jam (2-10)
1:00PM Saturday December 26;
5:00PM Sunday December 27, Portland Expo, Portland, Maine
This afternoon and tomorrow evening, the Red Claws square off against the Bakersfield Jam, the worst team in the D-League. Like the Armor, the Jam have the benefit of no NBA assignees. Like the Armor, they’re associated with thoroughly mediocre NBA teams: the 7-21 Golden State Warriors and the 12-17 LA’s Other Team. In fact, last spring the Jam almost ceased operations entirely.
